Personality: Rei... Rei, Rei, Rei. Rei is pretty much the epitome of kindness and friendly words. She has a smile for both her allies and her enemies, no matter what the situation is--it's almost impossible to get Rei to be down about the world. Ever the optimist, Rei will always say that there is something better in the world for them, and will always strive to get that better thing for the people that she cares about. There are almost no situations where it's possible for Rei to be down and unhappy about things, instead leaving her to be cheerful all the time. If she's not cheerful about something, she'll be neutral--and even then, the hints of a smile and laugh lines remain on her face. Anger is a faded memory for Rei, but if something causes her to feel it, you had best hope it wasn't you.

Rei is also well aware that she is a very attractive woman, and often times wears clothing that reveals the lines of her figure to the people around her. While she doesn't tend towards wearing particularly skin-revealing clothes, she likes to wear things that specifically flaunt the curves of her body--often wearing very tight, body-fitting clothing. It also helps her in battle, occasionally. She really likes to wear stockings. And a few other things (she's a bit of a fan of light bondage. Nothing too heavy, but if you happen to tie her up, she gets a little bit excited about it.)

She dislikes it when she can see someone in pain, whether or not they're an ally or an enemy. As a result, she has a bad habit of shirking war duties, instead opting to remain in the medic's tent with her Captain. That way, she can minimize the amount of pain she sees people in, and work her best to fix it. She is very methodical in her work--some might call her a perfectionist. She might just agree with those people. It should be stressed that Rei is not a pacifist, but she will never make the first strike, and she will always hold off on defending herself until it's absolutely necessary.

Kidō Channel: Rei's Kidō (both Hado and Bakudo) is much weaker in power than your average Kidō user. In exchange for this, she has gained an incredible amount of precision to work with. If she really wanted to, she could discreetly insert a Kidō Bomb into your liver. She won't, though, as she is essentially devoted to healing wounds with her power.

Mental Blocks: If Rei tries to use either her Shikai or Bankai to willingly harm another being, she will be forced back into her sealed form, no matter what she was doing. She won't even be allowed to release if she has the idea of using it to harm somebody.

Zanpakutō: In its sealed form, Kaitai Gyosha looks like a sealed scroll tube.

Zanpakutō Spirit Personality: Kaitai has an exceptionally analytical view of the world, preferring to look at everything in its individual parts. As a result, she often lacks oversight and can frequently make mistakes based on the larger picture at work. While she is very sensical and logical with her world, she lacks proper common sense and is often engrossed in something too small to matter. She often misses necessities. That said, she works well with proper clues.

Shikai

Shikai Name: Kaitai no Kirei Shiryoku (Beautiful Vision of Disassembling)

Shikai Appearance: Kaitai no Kirei Shiryoku takes its appearance when Rei opens one end of the scroll tube, producing a scroll with ends made of a black steel. Spreading apart the ends reveals a multicolored variety of symbols that float in mid-air, the rest of the Zanpakutō taking its place and floating behind Rei's shoulders.

Shikai Abilities: Kaitai no Kirei Shiryoku gives Rei the power of 'sight'. While her supernaturally precise Kidō is usually lost on most targets (except for heavily-armored ones that have small openings), this allows her to become a powerful and expert healer. It allows her to see literally everything inside someone's body, and even view a three-dimensional image of parts inside of them. This also allows her to specifically manipulate those images with her Kidō, as if she were making incisions and the like surgically to access their internal organs. This has a minor energy requirement, and can essentially be left on indefinitely.

Character Background: What do you do when the only reason you've failed is because you've done everything that you can to help? Rei doesn't recall much of her life before she died, but she remembers exactly when and why she did--she had the best of intentions. An injured kitten in a tree... in a lightning storm. She wasn't very intelligent in life. She rescued the kitten, survived the tree and got it to safety. What, were you expecting such a simple and foolish end? No, no, you see, her end came with even better intentions. For most of her adult life, Rei worked as a doctor in a well-to-do hospital. Her end came because she just wanted to help. A junkie came in one night, looking for his next fix. That alone was enough to set alarm bells ringing for pretty much any other doctor; but not Rei. Rei Oshino was stabbed in the jugular vein with an infected hypodermic needle that had passed through security. She died three hours later.

You would think that this specifically would stop someone from helping other people--maybe even removing their faith in innocent humanity. Not Rei. Even in the Rukongai she put her doctor's training to good use, helping others with their ailments. She soon became a well-known name among the Rukon citizens--something she maintains to this day. During this time, she was scouted by a Shinigami of the Fourth Division, who thought her services useful for them. She joined the Shino Academy, where she was found to be almost prodigious at Kidō. That said, they had difficulty convincing her to use lethal force. Eventually, they just allowed her to do as she pleased.

This caught the eye of multiple people--firstly, a member of the Fifth Division was given orders to approach her, Kaminari Hatakeyama. Apparently the Fifth Division had a vested interest in Rei's skill with Kidō, but had their trepidation regarding her unwillingness to use lethal force. The Fourth Division, on the other hand, were interested in her healing skills. She was torn, but eventually chose the Fourth Division when she left the Academy. Eventually she reached the position of Lieutenant,
