Daigoro Ito Empty
PostSubject: Daigoro Ito   Daigoro Ito EmptyMon Dec 03, 2012 8:49 pm

Sugiura Template

Basics

Name: Daigoro Ito
Birthname: Hao Yángguāng, "Yang"
Titles: The Radiant Dawn, The Chosen Vanguard
True Age: 2,102
Gender: Male
Sugiura Class: Noblesse
Height: 5'8" (173 cm)
Weight: 68kg (150 lb)
Blood Type: AB+

Personality: At a first glance, Daigoro Ito would appear to be a man of many different moods and mind-sets—much like any other being, but in a strange way. If one was to speak to him, they would see him possibly change personality several times throughout the conversation, depending on how he had been spoken to. A firm believer in equality and balance, he feels that if someone’s willing to do something to you, then they should be prepared to take what they gave. If one was to speak kindly to him, then he would speak kindly back - and vice versa. If someone was to attack him in a form of anger, then he would defend himself with some form of anger back, although most likely without the same strength and proper rage behind it - one who knows Daigoro personally knows him as a greatly benevolent individual, who rarely tries to harm others without very good reason. Upon meeting him for the first time, one’s first impressions can be quite good—Dai is easy to trust those he meets, but also quite quick to change his opinion on someone, depending on their actions. If he does not mind you, his face will be a kindly one, his lips turned up in a smile. Anything else will bring forth a neutral expression.

Daigoro has a crazy ideal. His ideal is that all life upon this planet, and within all the realms, is equal. All lives are to be saved, unless they have chosen to act in a way that doesn’t deserve their existence; ‘evil’ people do not get the chance at retribution, unless they have proven that they will attempt to fix their ways. He doesn't try to choose who lives and dies—he hates the idea of judging the fate of another being on the same level—however, he will always choose to protect those that he cares about with more strength than he would if he were attempting to protect someone that was not close to him. Innocents and the weak will always be an exception to that scale. That said, Dai is, or attempts to be, unbiased in all of his opinions, and tries to take in both sides of the story of an argument. He refuses to act upon menial accusations, finding them ‘petty’ and ‘worthless’. He will also not hesitate to strike down a Hollow, finding their base instinct ‘horrid’. Arrancar are a different story, as they have gained the power to choose their path.

It is unwise to call how Daigoro acts to be 'with honor'. Although he will refuse to be the first to strike down a man from the behind, it does not mean that he will treat all targets the same way. Everything that is an enemy, is an enemy. He belives in 'righteous retribution', and will treat his target the way that it chooses to treat him. One who will strike him from the rear will be given the same--and one who will bow before him and give him every respect needed before a fight will be treated with the respect that has been given. As a proponent of the Sun's radiance, he will grant those willing to surrender treatment that they are welcome to, rather than destroying their hearts and minds. He has known Hell and would rather not grant that to others, for it would bring him naught but pain. Orders are orders, yet he will be very resistant to orders that go against his morals, honor and duty to his King.

The best kinds of dreams are the unattainable kind; and Dai’s dream is no exception. His dream, having being built up through his life, has grown to be a wish for peace. He wants to stop the wars, end the struggles, and attempt to have all life live in harmony with one-another, rather than attempting to kill each other. He believes that all beings have the power to do such a thing, and will often try and convince them as such if he feels like he can. He knows that some have a deep-seated evil, however. He is not naïve: he already knows that this dream is completely impossible. He already knows that justice will not prevail, and that they will have to become Demons to kill those Demons at their gates. He has already made this choice, but that dream is what lights up the battles.

In battle, Daigoro knows that he can take a lot of what others can throw at him. This has made him slightly more reckless, and yet also benevolent to the point of seeming arrogant. If he sees that he might end up injuring others more than they would need or be able to heal from properly, he will refuse to fight someone, unfortunately seeming arrogant to them. His general dislike for fighting is usually removed when he actually gets into the fight itself, losing his usual benevolent self to the heat and adrenaline that the ride to possible death causes. He may enter the fight with the intention of simply defending himself, however he will almost always end up attempting to overwhelm his opponent with an almost feral and indomitable style.

When he is researching something, be it a person or a phenomenon, he will follow any lead that he is given. He says that, instead of losing a good lead, he will always follow what he is given. Even if the lead was a wild goose chase for him, and he wasted his time doing it, it will always be worth it to the Sugiura. Daigoro also has a hefty air of nonchalance, almost boredom, about him. It's not the same as this “arrogance”, but it's rather similar. If you take a first look at him, he doesn't appear to care. In fact, it almost always seems that way. However, it is not quite as simple as that. He tends to wear his emotions on his sleeves, but he has learned to control himself enough that he keeps calm when he has to. His face will almost always tell you everything that he’s feeling at the time, however.

He is also generally sarcastic and joking, however he is never malicious towards someone unless he sees some side of them that he doesn't like. He automatically locks onto the good within people, no matter whom they are, and will reject somebody if he sees no retrievable good in their heart. His one dream is peace, as mentioned before, and he will do anything to make that goal possible - except for merciless or undeserved killing. Daigoro's mental and physical will is also at an amazing level; and if he was to be told that there were insurmountable odds against him... he'd still press on. He’d stand there, take whatever came at him, and yet he would make sure that he survived to live for another day. If he has something to live for, he will refuse to allow himself to die.

General Appearance

Appearance:

Animalistic Traits: N/A
Appearance Age: 22

Natural  Abilities

Techinques:

Martial Weapon Mastery: If it is a close-combat weapon, he can most likely use it well. Everything from rapiers to broadswords he has been trained in, with the purest intent of being able to pick and choose the style that he needs the most. Of course, that also requires finding weapons on the battlefield--since he doesn't exactly have access to a quick selection of weaponry so handily. That said, anything from a dagger to a Scottish Claymore is useful when you're Daigoro.

Armor Mastery: Daigoro's speed is relatively average. Although he isn't as slow as some, he really doesn't have much going for him in terms of pure burst speed. That said, he can wear pretty much any kind of armor and not have his speed hindered as a result.

Shield Mastery: Shields are useful in battle, and therefore he uses them when necessary. He is not hindered by them.

Improvised Weapon Mastery: If he can pick it up, he can use it as a weapon--for this reason, he carries his umbrella on him, but this applies to pretty much anything he can hold. For example, he has been seen beating the crap out of someone with a lamppost before. A table, too. Oh, don't forget the spatula.

Hand-to-Hand Mastery: Included amongst his close combat abilities is the mastery that he has worked up over hand-to-hand combat. This is used by him as well, especially if he can't get a weapon to use--or maybe if the umbrella is completely ineffective against them. Although his hand-to-hand isn't strength-based, he is quite capable of holding off a few men with just his fists (and maybe some dirt to throw in their eyes).

Origin: Vanguard
Other Weapons:

Armored Umbrella: This weapon is on the strength of a Sacred--that's the first thing that must be known. If one looks at it, they don't really see it--again, completely on purpose. Although it can happily be used to shield Daigoro from the rain, this is not its true purpose: the metallic umbrella condenses completely, becoming strong enough to be used in combat. When he has no need to use either of his Legendaires, he will bring forth the Armored Umbrella and wreak havoc with it. He can use it as if it were a blade and beat the shit out of anyone who gets in his way: or he is capable of opening the umbrella top up and using it as a shield with just as much strength as the blade. Other than that, it looks kinda cool when he carries it on his back or side.

Bandages: Yes, these are a weapon. No, I'm not fucking with you. There are two sets of bandages wrapped around Dai's forearms and hands when he goes into battle. If he's not in battle/exploring, he won't wear them--however, when in battle they themselves are also powerful weapons. These bandages are not, in fact, bandage. They are a very flexible steel--and they weigh more than you'd think. They have three effective states that they can be in:

Wrapped: When wrapped around his forearms and wrists, they act as buffers for his hand-to-hand combat, making his hits feel harder and allowing him to use his forearms to deflect both melee attacks and ranged projectiles.

Unwrapped: When unwrapped, they become a pair of long-range whips, while still wrapped around his hands for control purposes. These whips reach a distance of approximately ten metres away from Dai, and are his only 'ranged' weapons.

Removed: As said before, they're actually quite heavy. If Dai wants to trade power/defense for speed, then he can drop these for a moderate attack (not movement) speed boost, while losing the bonuses that the steel bandages grant him.

Mystic Eyes:

Mystic Eyes of the Warrior: These are an unusual Mystic Eye, not really having anything to do with changing the world around Daigoro. These eyes simply allow him to 'see'. They have a pale metallic sheen to them, and are active when Dai decides he wants to 'fight'. When he makes this decision, his vision changes for the better. Suddenly, the world before him is overlaid with what is effectively a Heads-Up Display.

Légendaire Sealed

Légendaire Name: Zhan Lu
Légendaire Legend: Zhan Lu - Sword of Kindness
Légendaire Appearance: [image]
Oblige: The fullest power of this weapon can only be exacted when it is taken up in the presence of a worthy King. It does not need to be used by said King, simply used in the presence of, at the side of this King.

Noble Phantasm

Appearance Changes: (If there are any appearance changes, please put a picture or 5 sentences)

Légendaire Sealed

Légendaire Name: Prydwen
Légendaire Legend: Prydwen
Légendaire Appearance: [image]
Oblige: The shield can only use its Noble Phantasms in the defence of a being--no matter who it is--even if they are an enemy, if Daigoro has decided that he 'wants to Defend', then it will allow him to Defend.

Noble Phantasm

Name: Shield of the Forward Guard
Appearance Changes: The shield increases in size, becoming a tower shield that stands as tall as Daigoro.
Abilities: Once entrenched into the ground, the shield offers powerful defensive bonus to anyone behind it. Although it only appears as a forward-facing tower shield, the defensive capabilities extend in an arc outwards from the shield as well, reaching around about 33% of the way--if it were to be a full circle. Attacks that come at these defensive bounds are simply stopped, though they are not negated.

Past & Roleplay Sample

Character Background:

"--no more! I will not stand for this any more!" His voice shouted out into the darkness at the invisible opponent, taunting them in an attempt to draw their ire. He had been standing on attention for hours, watching and waiting for them to come out of the fade and strike him down where he stands. Yet, they had done no such thing. It was as if they were just hiding away, waiting for him to make a mistake. He would, however, remain vigilant, even when in the face of an invisible enemy. His red locks flowed down his back and he stared deeply into the darkness, attempting to penetrate it and discover just what it was he was fighting.

"Come! Take me if you can!" The sword in his right hand melded into the darkness, the steel a deep black shade. In his left hand was a shield of the opposite hues, shining from the lantern that sourced the only light he could see. Finally, as if only just realizing his calls, something attacked. In retaliation, the shield was brought up to heel and protected the man from the attack. Each attack attempted to further and further break through the man's defense, yet he simply stood his ground and shouted his cries of battle. The attacks relented momentarily, and he chose that moment to make his counter-attack.

"Too late!" He pushed forwards with the shield just as another attack bore down upon it--the attack was powerful, but the thrust in return was stronger. Pushing the attack backwards and knocking the source out of balance, he bashed the shield to the side and swung with a just motion. The blade whistled through the still air and cleaved instantly, cutting the beast in two with little difficulty. It fell to the ground with a screech, and Daigoro returned the blade into its sheath, before reaching his sword hand up and bashing it against the shield with a grin.

"Next time, try to leave a dent."

Daigoro Ito has always been a warrior--not a fighter, but a defender. A man who could be called upon to fight in the name of another, protecting their life no matter the cost. And he has always been successful with this missive--even before his exile, he would do his best to protect the weak and needy. No money called to him, for he could make his fortune another way. No, he simply wanted to see the faces of those he'd protected shine as that which attacked them fell to the ground. A stalwart man who stood between Death and his Prey, Daigoro--or Yang, as he was then known, prided himself on being unbeatable in single combat. Never moving, always standing his ground--it was his prerogative to leave battles alive, and with those who depended on him by his side. However, this would not always be the case.

His overconfidence got the better of him--and never losing had more of an effect on his psyche than he'd originally perceived. They'd all told him that he couldn't do it, that he should find someone stronger--but he would not listen. He had no thoughts about taking the advice of those his better, as he believed himself to be the best there was. Instead, he went through with it. His job was to protect a nobleman who was to broker peace between two settlements at war. This peace would stabilize the region that he was living in, and ensure the lives of thousands more. If this did not occur, it was more than likely that proper battle would break out, and it would be bloody.

The first strike came in the night. He had been standing watch, vigilant and waiting for the assassins to approach. There was no doubt that they would make an attempt on the life of this nobleman while he slept; so Yang could not afford to sleep himself. He would rest when the job was complete.

The attack was fast--faster than he'd ever seen before. The strike bore down upon his Prydwen, immediately breaking his early defences. Unsure of how he could've been beaten so quickly, he reacted in a swift manner. He pushed back with his shield and shunted away the Assassin, finally seeing the enemy with his own eyes.

"I won't let you pass." The assassin smirked widely, charging at Yang with a howl. He reacted in much the same--if not a quieter--manner than this man, holding up his shield to block the incoming attack. Yet, it didn't seem to be enough--it was as if the man had cut right through his shield and attacked his chest directly. Blood sprayed out from the fresh cut, Yang's eyes widening in confusion. He looked up once more, moving to make the attack this time. In his rush to make his attack, however, he was cut from behind--even though the assassin was still before him. Two of them? He looked behind, another bad move. Every time he made a movement, he was cut in a place that he didn't expect to be cut. The randomness made it impossible to block against, and every cut just added to his confusion. Why were they able to get through his defense? When he finally got the assassin in his sight again, he decided to make one final charge, not letting him out of his sight. He pushed off of the ground with a yell and charged--but the assassin threw down a smoke bomb. Undeterred, Yang continued his charge until he felt steel penetrate flesh. He grinned in satisfaction, but that expression faded as the smoke cleared.

On the end of his blade was no assassin. It was the nobleman who he had been assigned to guard. His expression turned into horror as he realized what he had done, but he had no time to think about it--he felt a hand on the back of his neck knock him unconscious, as the pair fell to the ground.

When he awoke, he awoke in chains and with absolutely no wounds to speak of. The pair had been discovered when they were a day late--they had missed the meeting, and true war had been called. Yang didn't know what to say. He tried to explain his version of the events, but nobody was convinced. They had already decided--Hao Yángguāng had been the one to kill the nobleman. He would be tried, and most likely exiled for his crimes. There was no need to kill him--if they did so, he would not be able to feel true remorse for what he did. The sentence was passed, and Hao Yángguāng was exiled from the Sugiura Lands for the rest of his life.

Living in the Material World was difficult at first. They hadn't removed his power, just his ability to get back to the Sugiura Lands--if he wanted to, he could even go to Soul Society, but it wouldn't matter. It wasn't home. He was doomed to wander. He would need to make life in this harsh land as best as possible. And to do that, he needed to be able to fight. It was, after all, the 12th Century.

Having been given a material body to work with, he set about making a life for himself in this world. At first, it wasn't easy. He forged himself a new identity, a place to live and finally a weapon to use. The umbrella was certainly lacking in most weaponry, but it made for something easily carried. Everything else just came naturally, and Daigoro Ito was born anew.
