Tokyo Jihen [PRIVATE] MariVan
___________________________________
Mariska Ivanova & Vanya Loselle
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯

"Vanya." In a rare occurrence, Vanya was referred to by name. Even with the wind blowing so hard, she could hear her name so clearly. She blinked, wondering if it was something good or... "Y-yes, Lady Mariska?" "I don't know what the big fuss was so long ago about that town of 'Kamakura' or whatever. Do you?" Although she didn't turn back to speak to her subordinate, it was clear that Mariska was not asking a rhetorical question, or one whose answer didn't matter. "I was not born at that time, so I can't say. My apologies." Not knowing the answer, she bowed her head in shame. As she began to look up once more, a pair of silver eyes were staring right into her own. "I forget you're younger than I am." It was a cocky smirk that accompanied those eyes.

Although no one else could see them now, the two Arrancar were able to see so much. The city was Tokyo, the capital of the Japanese Empire. Even 155 years into the future, Japan was still under the rule of the Emperor. National pride barely diminished, and the people of Japan were a proud people. The two Arrancar could see that from atop Tokyo Skytree, the largest structure in Japan. It was a crisp night with a strong wind, but these two were able to stand there like it was nothing. "I hate to ruin this place..." Mariska was looking out across the light-dotted horizon. Tail lights, head lights, streetlights, lamps, and even night lights could be seen from where she was. It was a beautiful sight, and one that she may not be able to enjoy again... depending on the outcome here. "But we have to stir them up somehow. Maybe seeing us in action will cause people who dislike the mudak as much as we do to seek us out." Vanya had doubts about this plan, but... it was Mariska's will. She could not argue.

It was like lightning. So much would change in an instant. The lamp-lit streets were brought to daylight levels. The Skytree's fruit was light, and a cleansing light at that. Glass shattered as the light passed by. The straight line it traveled in never moved. The only time it changed was when it stopped. To call it "stopping" isn't exactly correct. It collided with the street, exploding into a ball of blue and silver. The light ripped apart what it came in contact with. Cars, lamps, people, it didn't matter. It was ripped apart. Further chaos ensued as cars couldn't stop in time and crashed into the crater. And this wasn't the end. Four more lights came from the Skytree. Not at the same time, but in sequential order. The same effect each time, although the amount of casualties and fatalities varied.

Mariska smiled as she lowered her hand. Vanya watched as explosions began to rock the city. They were the explosions of cars and other vehicles, not of bombs or the like. Smoke began to pile out of the five craters and the immediate vicinity as sirens rushed towards them. "A shame we have to destroy so much to call out people who mean so little." Vanya looked to her master, worried of the outcome that might occur...

Tokyo Jihen [PRIVATE] Serenity-Edwardian_zps1681dd70

This was anything but what Serenity wanted to deal with today. Why had she come to this damn city if she was going to have to deal with yet another maniac destroying shit for no apparent reason. She was sitting at one of the tables in a cafe, staring at four small children that had their faces pressed up against the glass of some toy store. Unlike the other adults around, she wasn't as awe struck. She was merely observing the behaviors of young children. They seemed too happy over some plastic alien looking weapon. It obviously could not kill anyone and didn't seem to take in any real ammo, so what was the fascination with this useless piece of work? It was then that the screams of horror and the loud thundering boom hit her ear. Unaffected like the adults around, Serenity merely turned her head to the chaos. Something had hit the ground and hit it hard. The explosion spread a bit, but enough to take a few innocent people with it.

As the smoke cleared, there was a carter could be seen in the middle of the road. Serenity's eyes narrowed as she watched people unable to stop in time crash into the crater. One of these cars had a family of five inside. With a roll of her eyes, she flicked her wrist just enough to stop the damn car for them. She rolled her eyes and turned back to the crater. A moment later, in the opposite direction, another hit. She turned toward it to see it hit quite a distance down the road. It was with that second one that she knew where it was coming from. Looking up to the top of the Skytree, she saw two more fire off. And finally the last came and, of course, it was heading right for her area. She had a choice to make. Attempt to save everyone or save herself? Glancing toward the children near the toy store, she made her choice. She hurried over to the side of the children and stood behind them. "Get close!" she said, forcibly pulling them in.

Right before the blast was able to impact them, Serenity raised her arm and created one of her more powerful defensive abilities: Electromagnetic field. Since all energies have some sort of electric current within them, this shield is powerful enough to stop just about anything. The blast impacted them and Serenity just concentrated on keeping the barrier intact. A few second later, she felt the pressure of the impact lift and dispelled the barrier. Looking down to the children, mainly the older red eyed one. "Go, get them to safety." she told the older child and the young girl nodded. Serenity watched the young girl take the children's hands and run off with them, but that wasn't her focus for long. Instead, Serenity turned her head back toward the top of Skytree. She lifted her foot and brought a piece of metal she could stand on back toward her. Stepping on it, she began flying herself up toward the attacker.

"... Enough." Serenity spoke up as she came to stand at their level, but about thirty feet away from them and sorta just floating in the air. Usually, she wasn't someone to sit back and be civil with anyone. She'd prefer to just destroy this... child. "You're a kid?" Serenity raised an eyebrow when she saw the small stature of the one attacking. She made a quick glance toward the other, but couldn't see her being the one in charge of any of this shit. She was too timid, to weak. There wasn't much more she could say at this point. Serenity wasn't above killing someone she saw as a kid, even if the person was likely older than her. Now, she just stood there and waited. Who was going to make the next move?

Tokyo Jihen [PRIVATE] 1e5k0j

"FUCK, FUCK, FUCK, FUCK, FUCK, FUCK, FUUUUUUUUCCCCKKK!" You know, there are times in your life when you really wish that you'd taken lessons in controlling your momentum. This, at least for Ushiromiya Battler, was most certainly one of them. A powerful Sorcerer, capable of literally manipulating the truths of the world and causing miracles to happen, and here he was flying at stupid speeds, unable to stop himself. While he was more than capable of using a miracle to stop himself, that was something of a waste in his opinion. Grimacing as his body continued to pick up momentum to reach terminal velocity, he started to wonder if he was even going to survive this trip. Thirteen-thousand years, and now it was all useless. "It's useless, useless, IT'S ALL USELEEEEEEEEESS!" Immediately, the portal opened up in front of him and he found himself now being bound by the usual laws of physics. Groaning out loud, Battler continued to streak forwards but then down--gravity had finally taken its toll. He looked to the side and noticed that there was someone standing atop the Skytree; he was in Tokyo, then. Sighing at this revelation he continued to streak downwards, cape fluttering out behind him as if trying to at least remove some of the momentum and failing.

While that was occurring, a certain green-haired lady was floating up to meet the eye of the people who were orchestrating this situation. Battler was yet to realize that this was an attack on Tokyo, but figured that there was definitely something going on--he could sense the powers at be from both women, and groaned again when he realized that they were above him in strength. All useless, goddamnit. As the woman raised herself up and began to speak, he noticed that there was something irritating about his trajectory. She hadn't seen him yet, but he was flying on a direct collision course with, not her, but the piece of whatever she was standing on. It would still be enough. "You're a ki--""OUTTATHEWAAAAAAAAAAAA--" The collision with the metal was jarring and slowed his momentum ever-so-slightly, but not enough to stop him from being a rocket to the ground. What it did instead was changed his course enough to send him spiralling straight downwards, which left him pretty close to the woman he'd knocked out of the sky. Close enough to reach out and... He managed to get a grip on her hand, but the ground was fast-approaching. He was lucky that she was decently sturdy, and that he'd started falling at a slower speed thanks to his cape.

Now that he thought about it, he was just going to make her fall faster. Goddamnit. "Ah, fuck it. I command of thee--allow us to land safely!" His voice turned almost transcendent for a moment as RNGsus made his decision. {84-18} Almost immediately, he felt his entire body start to slow down, and quickly made a rash decision. Pulling the woman around so that, at the very least, she didn't panic when she slowed down, he landed in a kneeling position and looked at her with a roguish grin--"Nice of you to drop in." Letting her down, he stood up straight and shook himself off, looking at her with a bothered expression, "My apologies. I had trouble controlling my momentum. I couldn't stop myself in time. I'll make it up to you when the time comes. For now, it seems like my services are needed here." He reached up to his right shoulder with a hand and brushed the last of the dust off with his fingers, cloak settling into place around his body. "So this is the trouble, huh?" Almost as quickly as he had descended, Battler began to ascend with the usual Reiryoku platforms until he was at a level position with the Arrancar. "So, you're the one causing this crap? Mind tellin' an old man why?" There was a grin on his face and a glint in his eye--he hadn't gotten excitement like this in a while.

[Johnathan Walker]

"This is not a drill. I repeat, this is not a drill. All forces of Alpha Protocol to battle stations. Code Black, I repeat, Code Black. Hollow attack on civilian ground. All forces, deploy immediately. Civilian rescue and evacuation. Do not attempt any foolish heroism. And if you are faced with either death by heroism or fleeing, chose heroism and getting out alive. Good luck, gentlemen. And godspeed."

Speaking such into his headset, Johnathan was running through his laboratory, throwing the white lab coat to the side. What had begun as a nice day for studying the Reishi-control unit further that he was developing in his own private realm here, had turned into a nightmare. His personal lab was known for being almost as large as the entire science division - a collection of spiritual weapons, tools and Quincy objects still in study, development and testing. From his calculations, he knew that the forces would need around three to five minutes to reach Tokyo - evacuating the entire city, though, would take time. Hopefully, the local forces had already started with the evacuation - Alpha Protocol had immediately given them the order, and when it came to spiritual threats, their word was law. Considering that only recently, the project had stood on the verge of closure, today just went to show how important they actually were.

The Quincy quickly stormed out of his laboratory, ignoring the usual decontamination. The news about the situation had reached him around half a minute ago - so the main attack was probably a full minute ago. From what he had felt himself, and from what the sensors had told them, the energy signatures closely matched a 'Cero' attack - thus the Code Black and Hollow codes being used. In the worst case scenario, Arrancar were present, and not just some Menos that got lost in the real world. John was basically flying through the base at this point, using Hirenkyaku to get to his personal hangar as fast as humanly possible. Nobody else knew how to operate the flying vehicle stored here - the Quincy Jet, an incredible piece of technology that used Quincy techniques of collected energy and high-energy fuel to create one of the fastest planes to ever take to the skies. And after recent improvements, the thing was even capable of going into space.
John grabbed two belts, each equipped with at least ten Seele Schneider, from a shelf nearby without even using his hands - glowing green threads grabbed the leather bands and slung them around his hip, above and below his actual belt for his pants. He'd need the extra ammunition in the worst case scenario. Jumping into the pilot's seat, the plane already accelerated and lifted off before the glass slid into place to keep the winds from tearing him right out of his jet.

The flying object over Tokyo was probably moving too fast to be properly seen with the naked eye - no wonder, as it was a jet going far above the speed of sound. Even crazier, though, was the pilot who had just jumped out of said moving plane. While riding on a bike that roared through the air, with flames shooting from the exhaust pipes, propelling him downwards even faster. Naturally, John arrived before his troupes did, and if everything went well, he'd have destroyed the opponents before the evacuation had started.
His incredibly sharp eyes homed in on the situation below him, as he roared towards it at break-neck speed, not even trying to hide his presence or extreme speed. One wouldn't feel much in the way of energy from him anyway - Quincy didn't have a lot of their own Reiatsu, they used energy from around them. Only one of the many reasons never to fight a Quincy while within one of the spiritual realms. Still, his senses picked up four distinct signatures down there - showing special glasses into his face while falling, he became able to even see the signature of waves that were there before his arrival. Quite the handy tool for examination, as it clearly showed darkened energy waves around the smaller female down there at the skytree. Odd, he would've expected the taller figure to be the stronger one... But really, judging a book by its cover was a terrible idea around the spiritual. Not that this kept the crazy and overconfident Quincy from continuing his charge and hitting the gas even higher - he resembled a meteor now, shooting right towards the two Hollows at the base of the skytree, while flicking the glasses back into his pocket. On his wrist, energy collected itself - and formed into a crossbow mounted to his arm. Not his favored weapon of the two he carried, but way more useful close up - and he'd get VERY close and personal with these Hollows now. Time to announce to the world just how awesome he was.

"In the name of humanity, I declare OPEN WAR on you lowlifes who would prey on the innocent!" It was hard to tell what was more impressive - his voice being louder than the roaring motorcycle-meteor that was heading straight for the two Arrancar, or his over-eagerness to just outright declare war. Well, then again, these Arrancar did just kill a lot of innocents - John's eagleeyes picked up multiple confused and frightened new Pluses down there around the craters. So he just hoped that some Shinigami would show up and do their job of sending these poor sods to the other side. Pointing his wrist-mounted crossbow towards the evildoers, John opened fire with a wild salvo of green energy bolts and a battlecry.

PostSubject: Re: Tokyo Jihen [PRIVATE]   Tokyo Jihen [PRIVATE] EmptySat Aug 23, 2014 5:01 pm

Its hard to know exactly how something is going to respond when you call it out.  Sometimes people show up, all righteous anger and blazing guns.  Sometimes they show up with eerie calm, as though they had been waiting all along.  Its hard to say which Mariska was expecting, which one she wanted.  One could say it was hard to say who she had wanted exactly; such an open attack called attention from the world round.  In the following days the news would ripple and seethe like a living creature.  It would spread through the peoples of the world.  Mariska had issues an open challenge though, and everyone knows who the natural enemy of Hollow-kind was.  She got her wish.

Genpaku Arishima appeared in silence like that after thunder, like lightning from the clear blue sky.  The call had gone up in Seireitei moments after the first spike of Reiatsu.  The young man appeared standing in the air on level with Mariska, some forty yards away.  The Senkaimon he had come through was far back; he hadn't needed it to be exceptionally accurate.  He merely needed to get to the right neighborhood.  His haiori was the only thing to give away exactly who he was, the symbol of the First Division emblazoned on its back.

He had not come unarmed; a slender curving blade of black and silver steel rested in one hand; it looked strange not because the Zanpaku-tō was strange but because it was released.  Raiden filled the silence after a moment with a hum of power, like static.  Johnathon Walker had roared in with explosive power, Serenity with quiet.  Genpaku merely appeared, the air about him suddenly tense as though as storm was about to break.  Maybe one was.  By most appearance Genpaku looked calm, like a man in control of a situation.  Most appearances; his eyes spoke of a different story.

If I said his eyes burned, it would give the wrong impression because fires die.  If I said they seethed with anger and hatred that too would be wrong, because a seething sea eventually calms.  Even storms, which normally so adequately described the silver haired man failed to capture what rested in those eyes.  Genpaku's eyes were emeralds of hate; not the dramatic, explosive thing most people felt for Hollows.  They were made from that hate, a solid and immutable thing.  Genpaku hated hollows like sailors hated storms; quietly and always.  And if there was a small fear mixed in with that hatred, who could blame him?  Hollows were monsters, after all.

Alpha Protocol had just declared war on these two beings whom had appeared just to cause destruction.  Genpaku stood and watched the display of power as it rained down on the Arrancar.  Yet he held back.  Why would someone who harbored such contempt for Hollow-kind hesitate you ask?  Because Genpaku knew what this was; it had been a call.  The Arrancar hadn't attacked the city in earnest (which really only made it worse), because if they had most of the city wouldn't have been standing.  The Gotei still had its data from the previous war; they could still read the energy signatures.  Two Arrancar of Espada level, as they were clasified, could have dealt far more damage.  So it had been a ruse to draw people out.  They'd succeeded.

So Genpaku waited, in silence as John filled the air with more than enough noise for everyone assembled.  He waited to see the point of this.  But his arm shook, because he didn't want to wait.  He wanted to strike and destroy creatures that would so callously exterminate life.  Not yet though.  Not yet.

Mariska Ivanova & Vanya Loselle

"... Enough." Mariska didn't notice the woman at first, which only surprised her more. She must not be a Shinigami, Mariska thought as she turned towards this woman floating on a sheet of metal. However, Mariska had no time for people who would play hero. Before she could tell that woman to get lost, this floating woman spoke up... "You're a ki—" "OUTTATHEWAAAAAAAAAAAA—" ...only to be knocked out of the sky by what seemed to be someone flying at the speed of light—I wonder if they call him Mister Fahrenheit? That woman, no matter who she was or wasn't, was not going to get a rise out of Mariska for calling her a child. Mariska was at peace with her height, thanks to a certain other Arrancar she calls Mother Bear.

Mariska almost stared in disbelief a little after the metal woman and Mr. Fahrenheit fell off the side of the building. "S... should we check on th—" Vany looked to Mariska, worried. "Nyet." The leader of the Espada shook her head. "They are not of our concern." Thankfully for Vanya, who wanted to check on those two, Mr Fahrenheit returned to the top of the Skytree using a Shinigami-esque ability... but neither Vanya nor Mariska felt the same hostility a Shinigami gave off. Although Mariska didn't notice it, Vanya did notice that this man... well, he wasn't too bad looking. A minor blush swept onto her face as she adjusted her crossed arms. "So, you're the one causing this crap? Mind tellin' an old man why?"

"It might be hard for you to understand, lapushka." With a smirk, Mariska took a step towards Mr. Fahrenheit. "Call it... declaration of war." Mariska's smirk was the only thing that could be seen as non-serious. Her entire expression, save for that smirk, was serious to the bone. "Not against humans or any of their governments. I have no interest in further disrupting their normal lives. The only people I wish to harm in this war any further... are the so-called 'protectors' of the humans. The people clad in black Oriental garb... the Gotei Thir—" "In the name of humanity, I declare OPEN WAR on you lowlifes who would prey on the innocent!" Right as Mariska was getting to the good part, someone had to ruin it. And they had to ruin it by firing a volley of... arrows? And from above? Any Hollow knew what they were, and it only further complicated things for Mariska.

With a heavy sigh, Mariska could only Sonido away to the edge of the Skytree to dodge. She simply didn't feel like floating just yet, and she definitely didn't want to fight just yet either. And Vanya only followed, although she was more worried than Mariska was. "The one type of people I tried not to call out." It's not that Quincy bothered Mariska. Hell, she didn't really care about them one way or another—they seemed to hate Shinigami, so it wasn't like she expected them to get in her way in that front. The problem was that Quincy were basically the Ku Klux Klan for Hollowkind. But Mariska, as a proud independent black woman who don't need no man, didn't care how many crosses (or lower-case Ts) they burned or threw at her. Her goal was the destruction of the Gotei 13—and anyone who got in her way was going to be following the same path as the Dodo. "I have no fights to pick with either 'Humanity' nor your kind." Mariska's piercing gaze at the Quincy was just as potent as the arrows. "I have no interest in destroying this planet any further, so I suggest you stop mindlessly firing, eblan." Unfortunately, Mariska still hadn't noticed another presence lurking...

Wait what? Serenity had zero time to react to that sudden yelling coming from behind her. She could barely turn her head before she was knocked right off her platform. She attempted to keep it up, but the sheer power behind the man's momentum blew it out from under her. The two of them fell so fast. Serenity's eyes widened as she looked up toward the sky, feeling the air rush by her as she fell toward earth. She turned her head to see the ground approaching as her hand was grabbed. Turning her attention toward the red haired man, she listened to what she called a plea and suddenly they began to slow down. They did indeed land safely, as this man had pleaded and Serenity was sort of stuck. She looked to him and narrowed her eyes when he made a stupid comment about "dropping in" and was ready to drop the entire Skytree on him. Luckily for him, he was in a hurry and moved away from her before she'd choose to act.

Seeing a sewer lid, she fought the temptation she had to hit him with it. Instead of rail-gunning the thing toward the back of the red-head's skull and caving the damn thing in, she brought it over to the bottom of her feet and stood onto it. Trying to control her anger, Serenity let out a crackle of electric energy before she calmed down again. The red-head knocked her out of the sky and expected to just walk off?! Haha, no. Using this sewer lid as her new platform, she raised herself up until she was once again at level with the other's who had made their appearance. As she was raising herself though, she noticed a few new people had arrived. The one of particular interest was the final to arrive, one that she dare say... frightened her? There was something unsettling about this man, something that felt only slightly similar to herself. Meeting everyone's level, Serenity raised up right behind the red-head and stared down at the back of his head. If her stare had power, which at times it kinda does, she would have drilled holes through his skull like a laser.

"Do you really think that you can knock me out of the sky and just float away?" Serenity spoke in a chilling tone, threatening and dark as she hit him in the back of the head with an open hand. For now, that was all she would do. She moved over to the Sky Tree, just a few feet away from Mariska, she stepped onto a flat area of the building and looked around at everyone. She noted Johnathan, though she arrived a few moments after his declaration of war, so she didn't hear it. Nor did she hear that Mariska was calling out the "protectors of humans". In fact, that little stunt the red-head pulled knocked her back bit. She knew nothing of what was happening now. She looked to Mariska and Vanya, but really didn't pay too much heed toward them. Mariska was a child; Serenity did not see hollow, power, or danger. She did not know very much about hollows in the first place. What she did know was that Mariska was, or at least looked like a child. Another thing that Serenity did know was that she had stepped herself into the middle of a battle, but she was not going to be the one to throw the first punch. It was only a matter of time before someone did.

Though, Serenity did make sure to keep an eye on the observer, looking toward him out of the corner of her eye....

He'd pissed her off. Obviously, this was to be expected. However, his attention wasn't exactly on the green-haired beauty that he'd fallen into. Instead, his eyes were pointing daggers straight at the Arrancar who was at the head of all of this. Sure, there could be something to said about the woman at her side--but in the end, he knew that the one in red was the one to see--especially considering the fact that she had just started to address him on her question. He narrowed his eyes further, watching her with a worry. "It might be hard for you to understand, lapushka." Condescending. Great. She took a step forwards, and Battler returned it in kind, watching her for any sudden movements. "Call it... declaration of war." He sighed softly. If she was here to wage war upon humankind, then she would definitely have to go through him--even if he weren't a human himself. He had interests to preserve in this world, and an island home to keep together. "Not against humans or any of their governments. I have no interest in further disrupting their normal lives. The only people I wish to harm in this war any further... are the so-called 'protectors' of the humans. The people clad in black Oriental garb... the Gotei Thir—" She was stopped by obnoxious yelling that Battler completely ignored, his attention completely upon the Arrancar and her scion. Battler folded his arms, winds causing the cape behind him to billow out. So this was who she was calling out. With her being an Arrancar and doing such a thing--especially with such a heavy feeling of power surrounding her--he had to honestly wonder if they were going to make their return. "This could be a problem."

It was at that moment that Battler noticed a couple of things--firstly, he noticed a new presence arriving. It wasn't a difficult presence to notice, and definitely a lot more difficult to ignore--but it seemed that the Arrancar woman was too distracted by the arrival of the obnoxious one to really pay any attention. Battler, however, did notice. Battler, however, was worried. Secondly, however, there was a more important thing going on right now. He felt it raising into the air behind him--a malicious presence that caused his toenails to want to curl backwards, and all of the hairs on the back of his neck to prickle in unison. "Do you really think that you can knock me out of the sky and just float away?" He blinked and turned around, feeling a hand smack him in the face as he did so. She had apparently gone for the back of his head, and his turning around had really just been a moment of bad luck. He finally got to take a proper look at her--she was gorgeous. She looked like she could snap at any second, but she was absolutely gorgeous. Sighing softly, Battler rubbed his cheek and looked back in Mariska's direction. "Lady, Miss, whatever you want to be called," Though he was facing in one direction, his voice was lowered enough that only Serenity would be able to hear him, "I get that you're mad. But right now isn't the time to take out anything on me. I'll let you beat the shit outta me later. For now, we have a more pressing issue. Even if she says that she's only here to call out the Gotei, I don't think she'll be against harming others to get her way. Especially with that obnoxious bastard arriving. I won't order you around, but... be careful." He turned slightly towards her so that she could see the side of his face, and the fact that he was absolutely serious. Even if she was stronger than he was, he didn't know how much experience she had in this kind of combat. He needed to know what he had on his side--or against him.

[Johnathan Walker]

The meteor motorcycle continued to accelerate for a bit more, before the exhaust pipes turned down towards the tower and fired off an even stronger blast of flame, slowing down the roaring hunk of metal with the Quincy on the back. As the Hollows moved to dodge the arrows, he stopped his barrage, but kept the crossbow aimed at them as he manuevered the motorcycle without even touching any controls - a trained eye would see fine, green lines of energy that extended out of his fingers and onto the controls. With a crashing sound, it landed where the Hollows stood just moments before, right in front of the two bickering individuals and the looming threat behind them. John felt the murderous intent, but also that it was not aimed at him - years of battlefield experience made it easy to tell when someone was aiming to kill you. This wave of ominous feelings were aimed at the two Arrancar... Wait, Arrancar. Hopefully this didn't mean what John thought it meant.

With a grin on his face that didn't reach his blue, piercing eyes that shot back at Mariska, John got off his motorcycle, his crossbow still aimed right at her face. One move from her before he anticipated it, and he'd open fire yet again with another barrage, both to keep the short distance between them intact and to get enough time to pull out his close combat gear if required to do so.
"You want me to wait, then?" Oddly enough, John pronounced this one word in japanese with a lot more of his german and english mixed accent than usual - his side was turned towards the Hollows now, as he stood next to his motorcycle, and his free hand was at his side, not visible to either of the masked monsters in humanoid form. But it could be seen by the people behind him, and he showed three stretched out fingers to the three fighters behind him. The second part of his message.
"You're one stupid сука, you know that?" Spitting out the russian word with contempt, John's piercing gaze narrowed a bit - and the spiritual energy around him started to change. Where before his arrows had been small ripples in the general spiritual energy of the battlefield, his entire body seemed to turn into a maelstrom now - spiritual energy from all around them raced to his body and fused into it and his crossbow, making the green glass-like substance glow with more and more light. This was Johnathan's equivalent to revealing his full Reiatsu - as a Quincy, his personal Reiatsu wasn't that great, but his ability to absorb virtually infinite amounts of energy turned his aura into something even a captain would have second thoughts about engaging. There was no question about it, the tall Quincy was absolutely serious - he wasn't even smoking, which was usually his sign of showing that he didn't take something seriously.

"A mere minute has passed since your attack. You killed innocents, you know? You're a murderer. Spiritual creatures that murder humans fall directly into MY jurisdiction, you see." There it was again - the stronger accent on the word 'minute'. The message was clear now - wait three minutes. The time it would take for the armed forces to arrive and evacuate all civilians as fast as possible, as well as protect them from fallout of the ensuing battle. This warning sign was meant for all those about to engage the Arrancars, to hold back their full destructive force until the safety of the humans was assured.
"So give me ONE good reason not to blow your head off, little Hollow." John didn't speak further russian - mostly because most of the words he knew were insults. Allies or not, the russians did not like their british allies during world war 2 all that much, at least the ones he met. "Because what I see here, is a murderous monster. I don't give a shit about your quarrel with the Gotei or whoever else you want to kill, I won't stand for your injustices. So either give me a damn good reason, or be prepared." The maelstrom of energy increased further, and the blue eyes of the Quincy now shone with green light from within. He hoped that his taunting and snide remarks would cause the Hollows to either attack him first, so he could keep distance and keep them busy until the armed forces arrived, or taunt them into spouting more about their plans and motives behind this act of terrorism. Either way would be a good.

[Note: Thanks to the fast response by Alpha Protocol, civilians will be protected starting Johnathan's next post by various NPC fighters/services. Until that post is made, civilians are still unprotected from any fallout of posts happening before, unless other characters move in to stop civilian deaths. The NPC forces are not at the level to stop direct powerful attacks by any participating characters.]

"The only people I wish to harm in this war any further... are the so-called 'protectors' of the humans. The people clad in black Oriental garb... the Gotei Thir—"
That was all Genpaku heard of Mariska's declaration after his arrival.  The rest had been cut off by the explosion of energy that the quincy had loosed.  Quickly, said Quincy landed his vehicle while the other two non-arrancar's assembled seemed to have entered some kind of quiet argument.  Genpaku didn't much care about any of that; he looked back towards the Arrancar, which brought his line of sight back to the quincy as well.

He saw the first sign that John put out, and that was frankly all that kept him still at this point.  As the Quincy spoke and threatened the Arrancar the message became more clear, and it helped to temper Genpaku's anger.  In the back of his mind he had been working out the best way to move this battle from the middle of a crowded area where innocents were to someplace more...appropriate.  It seemed the Quincy had some kind of plan for this.  Plans needed time, however.  Genpaku couldn't let loose for three minutes, from what the message John had put it indicated.  This could be a problem; now that he was close Genpaku could feel the power coming off the shorter Arrancar.  It was no minor threat, not that any Arrancar could really be called that anyway.

So Genpaku took a long, deep breath.  The air hummed with the combined powers assembled; it quivered in anticipation of what was to come.  The whole time though Genpaku's eyes remained locked on Mariska, watching for the first sign of aggression.  As John finished speaking, Genpaku made his pressence known.

"It seems to me that if you really only wanted to start a fight with us, you would have attacked in the spiritual world.  This way, it seems like you aim to turn the world of hte living into the battlefield for our war," he said, his tone carefully controlled.  It was so flat it couldn't help but draw focus to his displeasure, so restrained it couldn't help but draw focus to his eyes.  Raiden continued to hum in the background.

"Why bother declaring war?  If you have something you wish to settle, we can do so right now."  Genpaku's voice held no threat of violence with that statement; it held the promise of conflict.  Genapku had gotten John's message, and the evacuation of the peoples of Tokyo was certainly something Genpaku wanted to have happen.  However, the longer the Arrancar was present the greater a threat it posed.  There had to be something else going on here; if all Mariska wanted to do was declare war on the Gotei she could have attacked Rukongai.  If she really wanted to declare war and destroy the Gotei, she could have launched a surprise assault on Seireitei while the walls weren't down, while no one was prepared.  So now was the time to try and figure out what game was being played.

Mariska just wanted to laugh at the Quincy. He didn't understand anything, did he? He only felt that Arrancar=Bad and Human=Good. Such a misguided view is more than ridiculous. He is nothing but a fool—one bred from conflict it seemed, but a fool nonetheless. Before she could respond, her attention turned to someone else. The feeling was one of familiarity. It was the one feeling she had hoped to come here. Her face lit up a bit as a man in a white haori made his presence known. Mariska knew this man was a Captain, but she didn't understand this man was the Captain-Commander yet.

"It seems to me that if you really only wanted to start a fight with us, you would have attacked in the spiritual world. This way, it seems like you aim to turn the world of the living into the battlefield for our war." Mariska liked the man so far. He was good enough to discern that—even if he was dead wrong. "Why bother declaring war? If you have something you wish to settle, we can do so right now." Mariska smiled to him. "Consider this a meeting on neutral ground. I do regret having to cause destruction, but I am not stupid enough to call out an opponent in their own home." Mariska extended a hand. This was not for a handshake, but more for him to kiss it—as if she was some sort of royalty. "You may call me Mariska Ivanova." Knowing he wasn't going to actually kiss it, she did retract her hand after she spoke her name. "Now, I am going to suggest that you should surrender. I will not call for any of your executions... well, there might be one, but that would be more of a personal request. I simply believe your organization is beyond saving, and needs to be rebuilt from the ground up."

Before their conversation could continue, someone decided to interrupt. A small gargantua ripped apart next to her ear. The voice from inside was familiar. It whispered to the Espada's leader. As the voice continued, Mariska's eyes widened in shock. And then they narrowed in anger. Her teeth peeked through her tightly-shut lips, snarling. "What? And that's confirmed?!" A Gargantua opened behind her. "I hate to cut our meeting short, but it seems someone is trying to undermine my operations. Mister Shinigami—for what it is worth, when you find out of what has happened, know I had nothing to do with such a thing." Mariska turned around, and actually waved as she walked through. "Torture is one of the few things I prohibit, you see." Vanya followed, bowing respectfully. What was happening in Hueco Mundo...?

Tokyo Jihen [PRIVATE] Serenity-Edwardian_zps1681dd70

This is a combined post between Dai and myself. Why? Because there isn't much that we can do here and this thread seriously needs to just end so people can move on with plots they've had stuck.

Well this got boring real fast. Serenity wasn't interested in the obnoxious fools that Battler and Johnathan seemed to be. The only one who was of any interest was the one that her powers seem to have relation too. And even then, the moment the smaller one left with a strange and sort of cryptic message for the Shinigami, Serenity found herself bored and uncaring about everything else. With a single glance around at everyone, Serenity stepped off the side of the massive building and allowed herself to fall. A second into her fall, a piece of the building was brought out and caught her, allowing her to glide downward toward the street and step off, as if nothing ever happened.

Battler took a moment to realign himself with what was going on. War was happening here, or at least it was beginning. It wasn't his place. The strange green-haired girl dropped away from his peripheral vision, and he sighed softly. Well, what now? It wasn't his place. Immediately, the platform beneath his feet vanished and Battler fell through the air in slow motion. No point in being here. It wasn't his place. His feet would eventually touch ground, and he'd watch Serenity walking away, before taking a moment to sigh. "Oi, hold up!" It wasn't his place, but whatever. And the moment she heard him call out, Serenity felt the tinge of a strong headache coming on, so without looking back, she ran.

"Go away!" she shouted as she hurried down what was left of the cities street. Assuming he was as stubborn as he was frustrating, Serenity groaned over the thought of him not giving up until he got whatever he wanted from her. Battler was being ignored. Damn it all, he was being ignored. Well, he was used to being ignored, but he didn't want to be ignored. Eventually, she shouted at him to go away. That wasn't being ignored, but he didn't want that either. Instead, he started running after her as well--creepy, sure, but he wanted to know more about this mysterious person that he'd literally just run into. "No! I have questions!" "No! Go. Away!" she yelled, continuing to run from him...

[Johnathan Walker]

"Hey, don't you dare to turn your back to me, you ugly little...!" Johnathan cursed and raised his crossbow immediately - but with a 'tch', he lowered it again as the two Hollows disappeared into a Garganta. If he REALLY pushed himself, maybe he'd have been able to slip into it with them, but chasing an unknown enemy back into their home turf on impulse alone was a great way to get oneself killed. John was overconfident, but not suicidal. That fine line was one he still never crossed. Still, what was this Arrancar on about? Neutral ground? If the human realm had ever been neutral in this conflict, it for sure as hell wasn't anymore now, with them killing civilians for no good reason. After a talk with Lilith, he'd make sure the Hollows would get a nice, fat official declaration of war stamped into their faces. Maybe he'd even take the Yamato on a joyride into Hueco Mundo and blow them all up!

As it became clear that the Hollows would not return today, Johnathan lowered his spiritual pressure and let out a sigh. The maelstrom of energy that surrounded the top of the building just a minute before disappeared completely - the collected spirit particles harmlessly dispersing into thin air as the Quincy let loose of his grasp on them. Without any intent to guide them, they were not dangerous at all. The two strangers apparently already left - well, that was their decision. Joining Alpha Protocol in their fights was not restricted to anyone, and leaving after any threat of combat was gone was also just fine. As such, the tall Quincy looked upon the Shinigami - a captain, quite possibly. Of course, he had no idea WHICH captain, there were 13 of them at any given time, if his information was accurate. But they all held great power and great responsibility, and as far as the last survivor of the Walker clan was concerned, he didn't hold any old grudges against the gods of death.
With a quick flash-step, Johnathan appeared in mid-air next to the Shinigami, an approving small smile on his face, which still held a somewhat grim expression. There were lost souls all over the town now, all because of some stupid declaration of war. As always, war was ugly, and hurt only those that wanted no part in it.
"Thanks for showing up, Captain of the Gotei. I like knowing that you guys still have our backs when things get rough with the Arrancar. One second, please..." The tall man raised the right hand to his ear and activated the small headset he was wearing. "Walker to all units, repeat, Walker to all units. Listen up boys, the targets have fled for now. Keep on high alert, but hold on the evacuation order. Change to code orange, keep security detail around the city. Help with repairs and psychological counseling as you can. And someone get one of our spiritual units to the impact sites, calm down the Plus until the Shinigami send someone to bring them over. Over and out, gentlemen. Let's keep this operation clean." And with that, he turned his attention back to the Shinigami in front of him.
"Right, as you might've heard - Johnathan Walker, one of the leaders over at Alpha Protocol. Listen up, if these bastards attack on our home turf again, I want you and all of your people watching my back. And I'm sure that if they have some sort of invasion plan for Soul Society, that you'd like some backup on the ready as well." With a flick of the wrist, Johnathan produced a small card from his pocket, with his name, official title, and a big, obvious button on it under a picture, not to mention a stylized, blue and big letter A on it. "Direct line communicator to me, should work anywhere on this planet. With any luck it'll work in your world if you hold it next to an open gate, too. I have no clue what they were on about, but I'd think you need to get back soon, so keep this. You need my help, call me. You want to talk about an official alliance with all of Alpha Protocol, call me and I'll get you on line with my boss asap. Or if you just need to grab a beer one of these days with someone, call me up." With a smirk, John held out the card towards the Shinigami. Anyone who helped with a possible plan to save civilians was alright in his book. This card was his own invention, like almost all of his gadgets, such as the motorcycle still parked on the roof. He was even thinking about making similar cards with direct lines to the other Alpha Protocol leaders, or their allies, for quick emergency calls, with locators installed to allow instant assembling of their group... He should really also think of a cool battle-cry to use when assembling with them. If this Shinigami turned out to be a valuable ally, he'd of course also get a card with his own image on it eventually!

PostSubject: Re: Tokyo Jihen [PRIVATE]   Tokyo Jihen [PRIVATE] EmptySat Dec 27, 2014 5:37 am

Genpaku, like Jonathon, found the statement about the Human World being neutral ground slightly ironic considering the circumstances that had drawn his attention here in the first place.  Then Mariska continued on, suggesting that the Gotei as a whole surrender.  A promise of stay of execution, with a single potential exception, and the promise of the rebuilding of the Gotei as a whole followed.  That didn't jive in Genpaku's head; why would you tear apart the organization devoted to keeping your race in check?  You couldn't make a case for how you didn't have a vested interst in messing with that.  Genpaku started to respond when Mariska stopped, another Garganta appearing behind her.  She listened, and whatever she was being told didn't seem to sit well with her.

"I hate to cut our meeting short, but it seems someone is trying to undermine my operations.  Mister Shinigami - for what it is worth, when you find out what has happened, know I had nothing to do with such a thing."  Mariska turned around, and actually waved as she walked through the Garganta.  "Torture is one of the few tings I prohibit, you see.

Genpaku made no move to intercept her exit; even if he had wanted to, letting her walk peacefully away was the smarter decision for the surrounding peoples.  A conflict here and now would have resulted in needless death and injuries.  Besides these practical things, something else had Genpaku's attentions.  It was little mystery then again what it was; Mariska's parting words were ominous in every sense.  Before Genpaku could rush back to find out what she had hinted at though, things had changed around him as well.  Two of those that had been present for the meeting had left, and the Quincy had appeared nearby with a grim smile and a word of thanks.  He called out an order to his men on the ground as Genpaku turned to fully face him.

Genpaku was not wholly ignorant of who Walker was; Genpaku had more interest in the world of the living than most Shinigami in the first place, so the movements of the organizations that had come to defend it were not entire mysteries to him.  Alpha Protocol did good work.  Jonathan made a...well, to call it a demand was pretty close to what it sounded like to be honest.  That was softened some, however, by the offer of support should the Arrancar launch their attack on Soul Society.  Such an attack would be the Gotei's business, sure, but Genpaku wasn't so proud that he'd say he didn't like the thought of help.  It was such thinking that kept the organization back in some ways.  There were still those that'd argue with him, but that was an argument for another time.

Genpaku reached out and took the card as Jonathan explained what it was and made his offers.  And despite all the things on his mind, and the small worm of worry that was twisting in his gut Genpaku couldn't help but return the smile.

"I'll keep that in mind.  Thanks for that.  Afraid I don't have anything like that to hand you in return, but I'll establish a more formal contact with Alpha Protocol and work that out.  Thanks for the quick reaction too; I'm relieved that the damage was as minimal as it was.  We can wish for it to be non-existent but in conflict that is rarely how things pan out."  Genpaku slipped the card into a pocket, gave a small bow with another small smile, then gave a sigh and cast another look out over the city.
"I'll get some of my people on this right now to sort out the souls.  If you need anything else, send word through one of them and it'll reach me.  The name is Genpaku Arishima.  They'll know where to find me.  Happy hunting, Jonathan Walker.  I don't mean to cut this short, but I need to make sure everything is okay back at home."

With that, Genapku spun back in the direction he had originally come from.  As he did the insigina of the First Division stood in stark contrast with the rest of the haiori.  There was no preamble to Genpaku's departure; he simply shunpo'd off across Tokyo as he headed back to the Senkaimon gate he had originally used.  That worm of worry was growing by the moment, and he didn't know why.  What exactly had happened while he was gone?
[Genpaku has departed. Be afraid]
