The Malayan Krait [Closed] Empty
PostSubject: The Malayan Krait [Closed]   The Malayan Krait [Closed] EmptySun Mar 17, 2013 5:17 am

A small, cool breeze was moving through the City, creating a calm atmosphere for those around. It was probably just a little past four. At least that is what could be assumed by how low the sun was and how dark it was just beginning to get. There was no way for her to know otherwise. After a massive fight with her mother over something Ai could not understand, she ran off. It's been three days since then and she intentionally kept herself within the confines of Academy City. This was where she was going to start going to school, so she figured it would be best to find the spots she would want to be. And since it was only a few days off until she was going to be given her dorm, she figured why not stay here and avoid her mother completely! Currently, she was sitting under a large tree in the park, seemingly alone. To those who would spot her, that is what they would believe. She was leaning her back up against the trunk of the tree with what looked like a small cooler next to her, and she was asleep. The cooler next to her was open and now empty. It had been that way for a while now. Inside this cooler, was once a full grown snake that was four and a half feet long, merely six months old. This snake was commonly known as the Malayan Krait. He really was a beautiful animal. He had also recently been named, bonded with, and connected to by the young tired woman beneath the tree.
Spoiler:
Now, the Malayan Krait, newly named Kiokure, was no longer by her side. He left her side to explore the park that they sat in, although against her request and his promise. Kiokure was now slithering through the uncut grass of the park a good one hundred feet away, doing his best to avoid the crowds of people in the area, though there really weren't that many at this time. At this time, the place that interested him the most was a small area near the swings that had some sun in it. Being a snake, obviously he was cold blooded and needed to find something warm. He was already regretting leaving the side of the woman he had recently befriended. She would have been able to provide a bit of warmth. Luckily he found this very small spot in some sand he found that was still being touched by a bit of sun and immediately curled up in it, hiding his head within the middle of his coiled body as he began soaking up the warmth.

The Malayan Krait [Closed] 33z4sch

"Fwaaaaaah~" Reaching her arms up into the air and looking at the sun that had lowered itself through its path in the sky, Michiko could only feel calm and happy about the time she was getting to herself. After a more-or-less frightening day involving scary people and scary animals, she was quite happy to just sit on a swing and watch that sun go downwards. Even though she knew that they weren't actually viewing the real sky, it made her feel good to know that the people in this place were trying their best. Right now, however, was not a time for thinking and feeling, but a time for relaxing and winding down. Feeling her bum touching upon the wooden seat of the swing and the slow back-and-forth motion that it was making as she smiled, Michiko felt at peace for the first time all day. Reaching up the small pot of tea to her lips and sipping it calmly, she waited until she felt it stream down her throat--when she felt that, she brought the cup down and gave a sigh of relief. Honestly, she hated the fact that she was so anxious around people. All she wanted to do was make friends, but whenever someone got close enough to her she would curl up--they'd make a sudden movement, and that would be it; Michiko would be off like a frightened deer into the woods. It wasn't her fault. Grandmother, in all of her infinite wisdom, had decided to teach an anxious girl that everything was out to hurt and possess her, killing her just like it did her mother. Of course a younger Michiko would've believed it--and she was stupid to. So when she finally got sick of her Grandmother's teachings, she had basically told that woman that she was leaving Japan and going to Hephaestus, to learn to properly control her powers no matter what. She was beaten to within an inch of her sanity, but she managed to make it out. She hadn't seen that cow again. She didn't want to, because that woman's teachings had left Michiko permanently scarred. Even considering that just a little interaction with someone made her feel queasy, so Michiko made it her goal to remain away from people until she knew that she was brave enough to be able to do so. But to become brave enough, it required her to at least try to interact first. This was the dilemma she found herself in.

Unbeknownst to her, of course, the snake was close at hand. Unmoving and the like; Michiko didn't know it existed, and it didn't know that she did. In fact, she was quite happily sitting with her tea, swinging casually on the swing with a satisfied smile on her face. She felt sorry for the children who came here, younger than 8 years old, without their parents to guide them--sometimes born here, even. People who knew this life to be the only life. She almost chuckled at the irony: she had spent so long trying to escape the confines of her Grandmother's shrine, only to be trapped here at this school, in a cave beneath China. The fact that they managed to hide an entire city here was amazing in the first place, let alone keep it it hidden. She had heard rumors of a powerful source of energy locked underneath the school; enough to power them for millenia: but she didn't think it true. Why would there be so much energy stored in the first place--and why, if it did exist, would it be used to power one city? It boggled her mind. "Oh, well~" She chimed to herself, unusually cheerful due to the lack of company. Slipping the now-empty-of-tea cup into her bag and hoisting it over her shoulder, Michiko stood up off of her swing, before a flash of black and white caught her eye. "Strange..." Slowly making her way towards the shape, she suddenly jumped back with a screech.

"ohmygodohmygodwhatisthatdoinghereohmygodohmygod..." A snake was in the grass, eyeing her (not really) as if she were prey. But she didn't taste nice! Backing away slowly, Michiko decided to retreat to a place that she knew the snake wouldn't get her--and the girl in black shorts and a light purple shirt would now be seen, kneeling on a swing, bag over her shoulder. "Eeeeeee...getitaway..." Curled up into a defensive position, Michiko watched the shape that she now knew the existence of, waiting for it to leave so that she could go home. She knew nothing of snakes, just that some were poisonous--so if this one wasn't poisonous, she wouldn't know until someone proved it. Poor girl.

There was nothing but calm thoughts running through Kiokure's mind at the moment. All was quiet and he was relaxed in his little corner, soaking up the heat of the sun that was soon to disappear. Even in all this tranquility, it seemed someone didn't want it to continue. A loud and obnoxiously sounding screech of horror shook the area around the lounging young snake, immediately catching negative attention from him. "That feeling!" Kiokure said in his own animalistic language and turned to what made the terrible sound. His eyes caught sight of a young human, petite, and warm. "Another one!" he thought as he slithered rather quickly towards her, but another shriek of terror came from her. This second shriek would have sent chills down his back if he had been human. Kiokure instantly retaliated with that of a hiss, baring his fangs towards the human. "Why do you make such noise!?" he asked, knowing that this one would not reply the way the other did, "Silence!" Each word he spoke would seem no more than a hiss to the young girl curling herself on the swing. Kiokure backed off a bit, settling himself about five feet away. He was unsure whether he should move or not. The one time he attempted to, she caused a sound he did not understand and it only made him feel uncomfortable and threatened. Kiokure stared at her. This human stared back. "Maybe if I don't move... it won't see me..." Kiokure thought and just stared directly at her. It seemed no matter how still he was, she would not move. The two seemed locked in a staring contest, completely unaware of the fear and intimidation that the other felt.

"Kiokure..." a voice spoke up in the snakes head, "Where are you? I told you to stay in the box. You should not wander too far with these humans around..." It was Ai. She awoke from the same loud screech that Kiokure was startled by, but it wasn't heard through her own ears, instead through Kiokure's. "Ai... This human! She screeches. Make it stop! I fear she is going to pounce. She has placed herself in a high place where I cannot get away if she chooses to do so!" Ai heard this and closed her eyes. Once she opened them, she would no longer see through her own eyes, but through Kiokure's. She quickly took in the surroundings and realized he was actually not too far away. She stood, picked up the cooler, and began to head in that direction. "I'm on my way..." she told him, now seeing through her own eyes. "Ha! Human! My friend, who is one of you, is on the way and will protect me from the likes of you!" Kiokure said, ignoring the fact that she could not understand and would only hear threatening hissing coming from him. While he spoke, he even raised his head and looked at her. A normal human would see a snake about to strike while Kiokure was merely speaking through his own language to her.

Hiss. Hiss hiss hiss. Even from her position high above him, Michiko felt completely and totally threatened by this snake. As she knew nothing, she was certain that it was going to strike her, kill her, eat her... ahh... the thoughts were just too much--she felt herself beginning to black out. No, Michiko, if you faint you die. Shaking her head and slapping herself mentally in order to bring herself back to normality, she began to watch the coils of the snake once more. It hissed more, and Michiko had no idea that it was trying to tell her to stop. As she had no personal understanding of the language of snakes, she instead thought it to be a threatening hiss. Having no knowledge of how beings like this acted, she assumed that it was readying itself to kill her. It started backing away from her, moving away approximately five feet. This was going from back to worse. If she didn't know any better, she'd be almost willing to stake that the snake was backing up and about to lunge. "pleasedon'thurtmeeee..." With her hands on her face and watching through her fingers, she felt her heart reaching speeds that were almost supersonic. It could be any second now. An instant bite, a feeling of heat through her blood, and then the slow feeling of her heart reaching its pinnacle... and then death. She would fall to the ground. Nobody would mourn her.

"Michiko Hasegawa," they would say, as they stood around her grave, "We didn't know her too well, she was always so scared of us. Even when we tried to make friends with her, she'd scurry away." Someone would probably comment on her much-larger-than-average breasts. Then, everyone would scatter and leave her to be buried by the perverted old guy who'd casually open the coffin and grope her dea--that's enough thought for one afternoon. Closing her eyes and rapidly shaking her head, Michiko tried to get all thoughts of death out of her mind. It's just a snake. It's scared of you. Don't be--OF COURSE I'M GOING TO BE SCAAAAREEED! She felt her body jolt for a second, hearing the snake hiss more as it raised its head up into the air. No matter what she knew about snakes (very little), it was trumped by that one knowledge from a few images she'd seen. When they've coiled up and raised their head like that, they're more than likely going to attack you with their fangs. Shivering more, and with tears at the edge of her eyes, Michiko finally felt her consciousness pass the point of no return. Falling backwards off of the swing and onto the soft sawdust, Michiko watched the sky fade to black, sprawled out on the ground where she had fainted. Until someone roused her, she would likely not move an inch. Not even the snake would be capable of waking her up from this slumber...

"Yeah! You better be scared. You can't hurt m-... HEY!" Kiokure was able to calm when he saw that the girl was falling in a direction away from him, but something was off. "Whoa now!" a familiar voice came forward and a young girl with orange-ish brown hair and matching colored eyes hurried up behind the falling girl. She quickly brought her arms up and caught the fainting girl, gently picking her up into her arms and stepping back over to the grass to lay her where she wouldn't get dirty. "Kiokure, what did you do?" Ai said in the language of the snakes and stepped back away from the girl, raising an eyebrow. "I did nothing! She climbed on that broken tree hanging from the strange vines and acted as if she were going to pounce. I do not understand why she falls back and sleeps." Kiokure answered, sounding panicked in his own language. Ai kneeled down about three feet away from the girl and just examined her. The girl was actually quite pretty. The first thing Ai noticed was the beautiful color of her hair and then the rather large chest the girl had. "Hm... Kiokure, around my neck for now, alright?" Ai told him and then sat down exactly where she was at, "We cannot leave her here and I will not move her. It's not like I could take her anywhere anyways..." Kiokure immediately obeyed the commands of Ai and slithered his way over to her. He intentionally avoided coming within a foot of the scary passed out human by taking a large circle around her as his path. "You're a dork..." Ai said as she held her hand down to him, allowing Kiokure to coil around her arm, moving higher and higher until he came to her neck.

"So... Will you wake her?" Kiokure asked and Ai shrugged in response. "I think you should. It's getting colder out here and unlike me, the girl does not have a way to keep warm... Mmmmm." Ai smirked and raised an eyebrow, looking to Kiokure as he nuzzles himself into her. The Malayan Krait of black and white merely smiled back to her, of course no one but Ai would be able to see the emotion within his features. "So now you're using me for warmth huh? Thought we were friends." Ai said as she looked back towards the girl and reached out. Ai set a hand on the girls shoulder and shook her, "Wake up!", jumping back the moment she did so. "Of course we are friends... You are my one, my only, and my best friend Ai... And... you are just as frightened of this girl as I am. Haha!" Ai waited to see if the girl would wake and if she didn't immediately, she would repeat the shaking of her shoulder except about double the strength behind it. "Wake up girl!!" she said, raising her voice a little louder this time. "Is the human dead?" Kiokure asked. "No. She fainted. You scared her enough to make her faint.. It's a common thing that snakes can do to people." Ai said, whether the girl was awake or not. If she was not awake though, Ai would once again grab her shoulders, but with both hands this time, and shake her much harder than before. "WAKE UP!" she would yell in a last attempt to wake the unconscious girl.

The Malayan Krait [Closed] 33z4sch

After the blackness had came, she felt a few things handling her--had she been caught as she'd fallen backwards off of that swing? Michiko had no idea, and she was most certainly not in any state to wake up and find out--not yet, at least. Instead, she was having a few amusing visions, involving snakes, swings, and grope-y guys filling in graves. It wasn't the best of visions, at least not in Michiko's eyes. Although she didn't move physically, she would continue to squirm internally, her mind telling that weird guy to get the hell out of there. Why, why, why could she only be brave in her own dreams? The images meshed a few seconds later, into a snake-faced guy on a swing reaching out to grope her.

"Aren't you precious," he started, "Why don't you come here and tell me all about your day?" She blinked and stared, not quite sure how to react to this bold-faced-snake-guy-on-a-swing. "Uhm..." She blinked again. "Aww... well you should--Wake up girl!!" Eh? Blinking again, Michiko looked to the side, certain that she'd just heard a female's voice. "E-excuse me, I just need to go and find something." And she ran. Away from the weird man on the swing with his hands that were shaped like claws and ohmygodhe'ssodisgustingewwww.... However, no matter how far her feet took her, she would always turn up at the same place, facing the guy with snake skin who wanted to grope her jiggly bits. No sign of that female with the voice anywhere, it seemed. Strange. Resigning herself to death, Michiko sat down and sighed brightly. "Well, are you going to be entertaining, or just perverted?"

Sarcasm, that's a new one." What? He talked back? Don't look so surprised, girlie. I'm just a weird manifestation of your subconscious, of course I'm going to talk back!" E-eh?! Nothing was making sense! "YOU'RE ASLEEP." Oh. That made sense. And like that, without warning, a pair of hands materialized from out of nowhere and gripped both of her shoulders, shaking the hell out of her with a shout.

"WAKE UP!" And wake up Michiko did, right in the hands of a girl with brown hair and eyes. She seemed around the same age as Michiko herself. Upon closer inspection, Michiko found her to be exceedingly pretty, if a little slender and a bit too youthful for her tastes. She wore red-and-white garments, but that was not specifically caught Michiko's eye. For around her neck was a necklace of black and white coils, quietly humming with each breath and really just keeping to itself. Of course, how was Michiko to know this? All she saw was that little beast that had threatened to kill her before--but she was no hero. Why would she try and save this girl's life, when it was really better to just get away! Launching herself away from the stranger with an inhuman speed, Michiko quickly put her back against a tree and stared. "S-s-s-s-snaaaaake...." The girl was petrified of the little thing, not knowing that it was as scared of her. "S-s-s-s-snaaaake..." It was likely that, until the snake was actually put away, Michiko probably wouldn't be doing much else--her voice was barely a whisper after all. She really didn't like snakes...

Though they rarely liked her either.

"Finally!" Ai thought as the girl finally seemed to come back into reality. In the position they were in, Ai was sort of standing over her. She observed the girls reactions, not expecting what happened a short moment later. The girl launched herself from the floor and Ai too reacted in a frightened manner. She shot backwards quickly, landing in a crouched position, sorta looking like a frog. "What the hell is her problem!?" Kiokure asked, raising his head to lay it on top of Ai's. Ai's eyes shifted upwards and then back towards the girl in a curious glare. "Dunno..." Ai said in a language that this girl would obviously not be able to understand. It would sound like a low and threatening hiss, applying multiple tones and pitches that not many humans had the ability to implement with normal vocal chords. "The snake is fine. He is my friend. He won't hurt me or you... So calm down, okay?" she spoke up regularly so this girl would be able to understand her, "You scared him with your screeching. And he didn't appreciate you moving to a place higher than him... To him, you were ready to attack." Ai cocked her head far to the left as she stared at the girl. Kiokure reacted by moving onto right shoulder. "Strange human. Why do they screech? I like you. You don't screech." Kiokure said, nuzzling the side of his face up against Ai's cheek. Ai turned towards him and smiled a bit, "They do it because they don't understand. Snakes frighten them. All they know of snakes is that they can strike and poison, some being quite deadly..." Kiokure was confused by the statement, but said nothing more. Both he and Ai then turned their attention back towards the frightened girl in front of them. "You don't have to be scared, ya know?" Ai said and then slowly stood up completely, moving out of her frog like stance, "If I wanted to hurt you, or if he wanted to..." Ai raised her hand and pet the top of Kiokure's head, "We would have done it when you opened yourself up by fainting in front of us..." "You know... I can scare her a bit. Maybe do that cobra thing. Raise my head and move from side to side. Would that work?" Kiokure said in a slightly excited manner. He thought it funny that a human would be frightened of him when he was so small in comparison. "No..." Ai said and then chuckled about it.

"I'm gonna do it!" Kiokure shot off of and slithered up to her. He stopped about three feet away for just in case reasons and intentionally raised his head. He began swaying back and forth, similar to that of a cobra, but wasn't exactly able to pull it off. "Kiokure... Wha-... What the hell?" she said and just laughed at him, but quickly turned towards the girl. "He's being a dumb ass... He can't even hurt you. The most his venom could do if he was stupid enough to bite you is give you a cold..." Of course, Ai was lying at this point. That Krait next to her was highly poisonous and deadly. She merely wanted to keep her calm. "I'ma get her!" Kiokure began moving closer to the girl, but Ai darted forward and grabbed him, pulling him back to her. "Waist. Now." she told him and he reluctantly replied. Ai rolled her eyes and sighed in relief. She then turned towards the overly frightened girl and stared at her, unsure of what to say or do next at this point. "This girl seems like she'd faint again if I'd just say 'boo'..." she thought, blinking a couple times.

The Malayan Krait [Closed] 33z4sch

There were many, many, many times in which Michiko Hasegawa spurned the fear that she had been taught to feel about everything in this world. She cursed her grandmother and that foolish tuition of hers. She cursed her bloodline for being so susceptible to danger and damage. But at the same time, she cursed herself the most of all. She cursed herself for not being able to stand up for what she wanted to be able to; it was foolish and worthy of getting her killed if she wouldn't even be able to stand up to an attacker--would that be the reason that she died? Scared, alone, unable to stand up for herself out of pure fear? Her breathing grew heavy and more rapid by the second as she started--and continued--to hyperventilate. The girl in front of her spoke to her, saying that the snake was definitely harmless and most certainly not going to hurt or kill either of them. Sure, she could say that now. But what would happen if it decided to change its mind?! Michiko didn't know that the girl was capable of speaking to the snake, so why the hell would she know any better?

"If I wanted to hurt you, or if he wanted to... We would have done it when you opened yourself up by fainting in front of us..." Exactly why Michiko knew that she needed to get better. She needed to get stronger, but she could never do it properly. It was as if everything she had ever learned about in the world was a lie, and her Grandmother had been doing it just to keep her at home. "Stupid old hag." She cursed the woman further underneath her breath, despite still being curled up with her back against a tree. Strange, that such a small and harmless-appearing creature could cause so much fear in one person without actually having looked at it before, but this was the psyche of Michiko Hasegawa. If she didn't understand it; she feared it. If she understood it, chances are she feared it more than she previously did--it was a downward spiral for most things. Closing her eyes, she suddenly heard something out of the ordinary--though she didn't know if there was a difference in sounds usually, she noticed that there were two distinctively different snake hisses--the one she knew from the little striped bastard, and something new. Peeking through her outstretched fingers, Michiko noticed that the new girl's lips were moving, but she didn't even seem to be whispering. When she stopped moving her lips, the snake sounds stopped. She was almost... speaking to the snake. No, that was silly. But in a world like this, where Michiko could contract herself to other beings, maybe something as crazy as that was possible as well.

She didn't notice the snake approaching, but when it started to move its head, she tensed up further, staring at it through frightened eyes. "J-just get it--him away from me... I... don't hate him. I'm just... waaah..." Tears were streaming down her face from pure fear, and she didn't know why. She shouldn't need to be frightened, she just was. "He's being a dumb ass... He can't even hurt you. The most his venom could do if he was stupid enough to bite you is give you a cold..." S-still. How was she to know that this girl was telling the truth? Breathing out as the snake slithered away and around her waist, Michiko allowed herself enough room to finally get to her feet, but still staying about five feet away from Ai, in the case that the snake decided to turn around and strike her. "S-sorry... I... my grandmother instilled fear of almost e-every living and i-inanimate th-thing in the w-world before I c-came here. It's... n-not an easy thing to g-get over, b-but I'm working on it." Her voice was low and shivering still, but she was slowly trying to get her demeanor back, wiping the tears from her eyes and off of her cheeks, flushed bright red in embarrassment.

None of what Ai was saying to her was helping the situation. She actually seemed to get more scared of Kiokure and herself. How the hell does someone get this frightened of the outside world!? The girl began crying and asked Ai to get Kiokure away from her and that was done, but not because of the girls request. She was merely making sure that they were not going to have any incident where Kiokure did bite the girl just because she was so frightened of him, nothing more. While in her own thought process, the girl actually spoke up and said more than three words. She stuttered the entire time, but at least Ai got a small bit of information out of her. At that moment, she only felt she that she was obligated to do the same. So... she sat down. She did not dare get any closer to the girl. Ai didn't want to deal with her fainting or screaming. Once she sat down, Kiokure slithered around until he came up to her arm and then coiled himself around it. "Stay there..." Ai told him. Kiokure nodded and rested his head on Ai's hand. Ai then turned her attention back to the girl. "My name is Ai." she said casually and gave the girl a moment to respond. "As you can probably see... I can talk to animals, not just Kiokure. Um..." Ai thought for a moment to get something else to say, "Oh.. yeah... I just got here a bit ago... Academy City I mean. Hm..." She attempted to think of something else she could say about herself, but their wasn't much that she would want to tell a strange girl. That thought entertained her a bit. Worried about telling *this* girl something. With how frightened she seemed of everything, she doubted highly that anything would be done.

"And I can see why it's not something easy to get over. If it was something practically carved into your very being every day of your life..." Ai stated in an understanding tone. She glanced down to Kiokure and titled her head to the side. "I was afraid of a lot of things, usually people. They hurt me, embarrassed and humiliated me, and anyone that saw it just sat back and watched. Never did anyone even attempt to help me.... I wouldn't wish that on anyone..." Ai stopped speaking for a moment as her eyes narrowed a bit. She was remembering things that had been done to her and then what she did to retaliate once she was sick of it. Closing her eyes for a moment, she opened them and looked back up to the girl. "If you want to change being afraid of everything... it's something you are going to have to force yourself into." Ai told her, "Don't just sit back and wait for something like this to happen again. You might not be lucky next time. Next time, it could be someone that actually wants to harm you... And also, the best way to feel safe, or at least safer... Is to make a friend. That's why I have Kiokure. He'd never hurt me and I would never hurt him. Try and find someone like that. Though... You're actually going to have to give them a chance, not curl up against a tree..." Ai smiled towards the girl. Although she herself had never been this frightened of everything, she did understand fear. She was going to try her best to help this girl and see if she could maybe even become her friend, having given those slightly obvious hints in her lecture. Even if she wasn't this girl's 'Kiokure', she wouldn't mind being a gateway friend that maybe allowed her to trust other people.

The Malayan Krait [Closed] 33z4sch

She hated this. She loathed this. She merely wanted to disappear and live out her days free of people, fear and that subsequent embarrassment that she received when she discovered that the thing she was afraid of, was merely a harmless thing. She could see that the snake was gone, and raised her hands up--slowly--in order to wipe the tears from her face. It was a hard-done thing, to live like this. "My name is Ai." Oh... such a pretty name. She smiled meekly to show that she had acknowledged that, and responded with a quiet "M-Michiko." She didn't want to be like this. She cursed this with all of her person, yet nothing came out of it. Letting out a long (and quiet) sigh, Michiko curled into herself tighter in order to better defend herself. "As you can probably see... I can talk to animals, not just Kiokure. ...oh. That would explain a lot of things, and potentially help Michiko out. In fact, it really would assist her endeavours. Letting out another long sigh, she tried to relax herself a bit more, listening to this Ai girl talk while she did so. She talked a little bit about how she had felt the same way; that it was something really difficult to remove from your being. Michiko just nodded, wanting to listen, wanting to stand up and shout to Ai just how much she understood and agreed with that pain--but it wouldn't work. Her body was still paralyzed with fear, and her mind was still shunning all assistance. That snake's very presence was irksome to her, simply because knowing it was there was more than enough to frighten her.

"If you want to change being afraid of everything..." Yes, she did! Force herself, don't sit back and let things happen--she knew already how hard that would be for her to accomplish. She knew what Ai was talking about though, and she could do it if she had the tools. A... friend? Michiko didn't have many friends. In fact, she didn't have any. Every person was a potential threat, something that could end her life in a heartbeat without any thought in the matter. That was a fact, but only because it was forced upon her. What she needed was to attempt to make a friend herself, but to do that.. she would need assistance. She needed to understand, and there were only a few ways she could do so. Yes. She could do it.

Yes, I can do it.

She got to her feet, awkwardly shaking and completely in fear. Her face was bright red, and she was already completely frightened.

"S-sorry in advance. I normally ask first, but I worry that if I don't do this now and quickly, then I'm simply going to chicken out. P-please forgive me." Her right hand was brought up to her forehead--yes, talking to animals was definitely a 'mind' power. The translation process could only be attributed as such. She didn't know if Ai had any other powers related to the body or the soul, but she didn't need to worry about them right now. If she could understand animals, maybe she could understand Ai a little more!

I have to do this now.

Two outstretched fingers--her pinky and her middle--were placed upon the invisible location of the seal. The location grew hot, and she started to quietly speak. "Under the Seal of the Mind, the King of the Three, I contract thee--please, lend me your power." And as if nothing were worrisome anymore, the exceptionally red-faced Michiko stepped forwards, uttered one more plea of forgiveness and brought her face right up to Ai's (she hadn't noticed Kiokure, thankfully). After a moment's hesitation, she pursed her lips and placed them against the other's--with merely a second of contact, the contract was forged and the link made. She didn't want to linger, and pulled away with an even redder face than before, but the soft glow of the symbol on her forehead gave clear notice that she had maintained the contract. "Sorry again..." If she looked at Michiko's posture, Ai would probably notice little change--her face was just as soft as before, but there was also something in her eyes that was different--a hardness that would almost be like looking into a mirror for Ai. "I needed to do that before I stopped myself, so I hope I don't regret this..." She was standing up straight now, and looked a little less scared. Above her, a bird tweeted--"LOOK OUT BELOW, BITCHNUGGETS!" And a bit of shit landed not five feet away.

"Ehhhh..."

"Michiko, huh? Fits...." Ai raised an eyebrow at the girl. Something about that name seemed to fit her rather well. The conversation went forward, and besides the mention of what was obviously her name, it didn't seem to be getting through to her. The most she did was nod back and Ai didn't know her well enough to say that meant anything. And the Michiko got to her feet. It was obvious that she was pretty much forcing herself to move and something told Ai to stay still. A way that animals interacted with one another, if one was moving and you did not want to 'challenge them', you kept still and silent. Ai was merely using this knowledge to help Michiko on her little endeavor, whatever it may be. Michiko finally spoke up with more than just a few words and caused Ai a little concern. She was apologizing... And at that she was going to do something that she normally had to ask permission for first? "What the hell..." Ai thought to herself, unsure of what she should to at this point. Ai kept a close, suspicious eye on Michiko, but stayed silent. The girl brought her hand up to her head in a strange matter and spoke in a way that seemed more like a chant, a spell. "Uh...." Ai's instincts told her to back away, but something kept her still. Curiosity maybe? Once this chant was finished, Michiko stepped towards her with an obvious blush. Ai's eyes widened as she went to finally step back, but it was too late. Michiko had actually stepped forward and place a very short kiss on her lips. Out of reflex, Ai stepped back away from the girl and moved her head back, unknowingly stepping back into a pole.

"What the he-..." The back of her head suddenly hit the pole, which was actually the metal basing for the swing set that they were near. "OW!" Ai leaned forward rapidly and grabbed the back of her head, shaking it, "Ow, ow, o-... That's fine, but ow!!" Ai made sure to tell Michiko that it was fine in the middle of her little pain rant. She stood up straight again, one eye closed, and then looked to Michiko, "Did you.. just.. Why? Why did you kiss me?" Ai groaned again as she rubbed the back of her head. She heard Michiko say she had to do that and then glanced up to her again. A moment later, a bird with a foul mouth flew over and bird poop landed a few feet away. Ai looked up to the bird in disgust, "HEY WATCH IT... Rude..." Ai went and sat down in the swing, slouching over as she held the back of her head still. It was then that Kiokure came slithering out and wrapped himself around her knee. "Hahahaha! She kissed you. That's hilarious. You know what? You'd make a cute couple. You ready to do anything and her scared to death of everything, what a wonderfu-..." "Shut up Kiokure..." Ai glared to him, just to have the snake intentionally fall from her knee and slither a few feet away. "Oh don't be so touchy... I was just poking fun. How's your head?" "It'll be fine... Just a small bump from what I could tell..."

Yeah, most people tended to react like that. She felt the other girl pull away from her, and stepped backwards a couple of feet as well; mouthing 'I'm sorry' again and again. The girl's head hit the pole, and Michiko immediately felt guilty and worried. She knew that she shouldn't normally do it that way, but she was worried that she'd mess up somehow beforehand, so she felt it necessary to do this before she chickened out. "Uhm... Uh..." She knew that it was a bad thing to do in such a situation, but she stepped forwards and offered her hand to help the girl. "Why....? It's the most intimate two people can get without, uhm, s-sex," Her face reddened at the very mention of it, "And it's n-not really a kiss, since I only sat there for long enough to forge the contract." She gave a weak smile in an attempt to convince Ai of that fact. "Hahahaha! She kissed you. That's hilarious. You know what? You'd make a cute couple. You ready to do anything and her scared to death of everything, what a wonderfu-..." AH!

"S-so you can talk to him. I thought as such, and you certainly did confirm it," She was speaking in the snake's tongue, smiling quietly at this, "I hope I didn't injure you too much, Ai. I don't want your friend here angry at me." Nodding quietly and calmly this time, she stood up straight and walked over to the swing beside Ai, sitting down with a smile. "Sorry about that; I felt it was the only way that I could understand," She lifted up her fringe, showing the softly-glowing glyph on her forehead. If Ai read closely, she'd be able to make out the kanji for 'Head', "My power is why Nana kept me wary of everything. I have the ability to contract beings with spiritual powers, and up to three at once. From those three beings, I can borrow specific powers--if I keep them contracted for long enough, I can even have the power bleed through and stay with me permanantly." A meek laugh, and she looked away, "Nana was so worried that I'd be taken by evil people, so she kept me locked away and forced me to be scared of everyone and everything." She hated that fact, and really didn't like sharing it--but she felt that this time, she could.

"O-oh, sorry for being so scared of you, Mr. Snake."

Insta-headache was what she received in that short moment that her 'first kiss' was taken from her. Most would be a little irritated, but since Ai wasn't exactly the 'romantic' type, she pushed it off like it was nothing. She rubbed her head still, listening and immediately recognizing the change within Michiko. "Uh..." she said in reply to her first statement referring to sex. She raised an eyebrow and shook her head like she was hearing things. It was about then that Kiokure spoke to her and she told him to shut up. As the conversation moved on, Michiko spoke up in the manner of a snake. Ai's eyes widened, she blinked once, and slowly turned her head towards Michiko. She stared for a moment as the girl talked and suddenly Kiokure went nuts. He slithered in different directions along the floor like he was confused on which way to go. A moment later he shot up Ai's leg travelling through her clothes until he came up to her collar and popped out besides her neck. "The girl. The girl can speak like you. Why? What did that kiss do?!" Kiokure asked, his mouth opening widely as if he were in shock. Michiko apologized and began to explain what was going on. Ai was in enough shock that she stayed quiet most of the time. As Michiko showed a marking on her forehead, Ai stepped towards her to look closely. She didn't look long enough to actually get what it said, but she figured she got the gist of it through Michiko's explanation. She also was able to now understand more about why Michiko was so afraid of everything, except now... After Kiokure got an apology, the sneak raise himself to the top of Ai's head and looked down to Michiko.

"Strange girl you are... I mean.. My name is Kiokure! And you're weird. You stole Master's powers. Why?" Kiokure asked, "How many other powers have you sto-..." Ai raised her hand up to Kiokure's mouth and closed it shut, holding it firmly, but not tightly. "I don't exactly care how it was done or who she's done it to before... I more or less am curious about the fact that you're suddenly not afraid of anything, Kiokure especially." Ai said with a suspicious look in her eyes, "I assume you some how take on some of my personality as well... Side effect or on purpose? And since you have it now... what are you going to do with it?" Ai wasn't sure how much Michiko had taken from her. She wasn't sure whether to be offended, or ask her to stop, or what. She wasn't one to share her powers, especially her bond with animals. That was something she cherished too much just to allow another person that she just met to use as well. It's the main reason why she was continuing to speak in the snakes language, trying to gauge exactly how much was taken from her.

Mistrust. She was met with mistrust, as she always would be. Of course they wouldn't completely trust her; she had borrowed a copy of some of their power--not all of it, but enough to make them suspicious of her motives. She disliked that suspicion, but she didn't want to not use the gifts that had been brought down her family line. It was a tentative issue, and one that she rarely thought too hard upon. It was probably made worse by the fact that Michiko had reached out and kissed Ai on the lips; but she really didn't want to expand on that right now. Closing her eyes, Michiko sighed softly. This was bothersome.

So, the snake's name was Kiokure? An interesting name nevertheless. Smiling quietly, Michiko listened to him attempt to question her on her 'theft of his master's powers'. With a careful hand, Michiko reached out and softly touched him on the head. He felt weird, and slimy, and strange. "It's rather simple, really. I only borrowed her powers, and even then I only borrowed the powers related to her mind--which is the ability to translate back and forth from the language of other animals, into the language that I speak," She turned her head towards Ai's completely and tilted it to the side slightly at her question, the tied-up hair at the side of her head bobbing with the motion. Her eyes scanned over her face for a second, and she smiled again.

"It's nothing serious, really. My personality does tend to change when I'm using my contracts, into an amalgamation of the personalities of every one of them, plus my own personality in the mix. It can be rather strange at times," She giggled quietly, "But if it makes you feel any better, I can only talk to animals. If you have any powers unrelated to your mind and more to your body and soul, then I don't know of them and cannot use them. You can relax, okay?" She tried to give a reassuring smile, knowing that this would be weird for both parties involved.

"Woooow...." Kiokure was happy to see that he was able to speak with another human like Ai, though one would wonder whether this was temporary. As Ai touched the top of his head, he happily reacted by pushing his head into her hand to show signs of friendliness. "Now I have two human friends!" Ai was happy to see Kiokure excited about this, but deep down she felt a little bothered by it. She always loved her gift, felt special with it. The idea of someone else having it took that away. Either way, while the two of them listened to Michiko's explanation of what had been done. It was then that she asked about her change in personality and had that explained. Her feelings must have been obvious because through the explanation, Michiko actually tried to make her feel better by informing her of the limitations. "So she can't bond with them or use their traits.... Good." Ai thought, glancing off for a moment. Although it was slightly childish, she was proud of her gift and really did not want to share. It did make Michiko feel better and not be so frightened. The girl was even giggling, so maybe it wasn't all bad. At least she was no longer cowering away from her. "How long does it last? The personality change... I mean." Ai instantly felt she had to reassure Michiko that she was not going to be bothered by the borrowing of powers. Even though she was, she wasn't the type of person to try and make someone else feel bad. Either way, it might be nice to have someone else to talk to than Kiokure. "And do you wanna go do something? Since you're not too frightened anymore... You can use that to go have a little fun!" Ai said and then crossed her arms around her chest, "It's too bad the damn creator of this city didn't add a zoo... It would be hilarious if the two of us could go to the zoo and talk with all the animals, mess with the people there... God! That would be so fun!" Ai giggled at the thought of them high-fiving a lion, or hopping into the gorilla's habitat.

The snake seemed happy. It was... a nice feeling. Michiko thought back momentarily to her food, but decided that no; she would continue eating meat. After all, there was nothing wrong with not knowing. Ignorance was bliss. She giggled to herself, placing her hands onto her hips and staring out at the sky with a soft smile. It had been a while since she'd last used her powers; confidence was nice to have for once. She didn't need to be scared of everything--maybe her consistently being scared was a divine allowance to get her to appreciate confidence, and therefore not get overzealous. As she pondered this, she heard the voice of Ai coming from her side. "How long does it last? The personality change... I mean." She blinked a couple of times, before placing a finger softly against her bottom lip.

"Honestly, it depends. Usually, it'll last as long as the power remains with me. All things depending, that could be forever--although I haven't experienced it yet, my grandmother told me of the 'Bleeding Effect', wherein powers that were contracted by my ancestor were capable of remaining with her after a certain length of time, even if she got rid of the contract. Her personality would change slightly, but not much--she'd mostly revert. I don't know, however. You may break the contract at any time you wish, and I won't hold it against you if you do," she nodded, "I understand, because I know how precious one's power is to them. In fact, this power lets me understand that more than anything else in the world could." She chuckled softly, shaking her head. "So, doing something?" She tapped her chin lightly, before placing her finger onto her bottom lip once more.

"I really don't know. I'm actually kind of hungry, now that I think about it!" She laughed softly, lightly covering her mouth with her fingers. She enjoyed having the confidence to speak like this. She really did love it so much.

Ai was honestly amazed. Listening to the way Michiko was talking, Ai couldn't help but smile. The young woman she had encountered just a few minutes ago was gone. This was what her ability allowed? She was able to openly speak without fear. It was a wonder that Ai was unsure of, though she liked it. Ai smiled. She couldn't do anything but smile. She was a little skeptical at first, but seeing Michiko switch up like this made it all worth it. There was no point of being worried anymore. "Keep it as long as you want." she said in a caring manner, a hint of sincerity in her voice as she lowered her head a bit. The unease she felt when Michiko was so frightened was gone. There was no way she could take away the confidence she had. She didn't want to see her like she was before. "Just... please... don't be so frightened of me if it ever goes away." Ai asked her, glancing off to the side with a worried look on her face, "I don't like being feared... I don't hurt people, especially if they don't hurt me. I have no reason to harm you, so I promise that I won't..." Ai moved on from that conversation now, asking about going and doing something. There was no point in just sitting around! It was time to have some fun, though she really did want to go to a zoo. Oh well. Michiko was hungry, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to get something to eat. "Alright then... Is there a certain place you want to go?" Ai asked as Kiokure slithered himself into her shirt once more, "He'll have to stay hidden through out that time... Not many people are okay with snakes." Ai glanced around a bit, unsure of where they could go.

"Alright then... Is there a certain place you want to go?" She almost seemed a little disappointed, that Ai did. Was she that intent on going to the zoo? Well, Michiko didn't think there was a zoo around--not even a petting zoo, and students were, to a very lesser degree, only allowed to bring pets in from the outside world. As such, there were only pet supply stores; not actual animal shops. There was very little that actually appealed to an animal lover in this city for students. Michiko felt rather sorry for Ai in that sense; and she honestly wondered just how many friends she had that were actually human. Smiling kindly, she then decided to hold out her hand. "You'll have to follow me. It's okay; I won't bite." She winked slightly, before leading on--whether or not her hand was taken.

The streets were rather busy this afternoon, despite what she had originally thought. Honestly, Michiko had no idea what people did with their time in this city. There were arcades; game stores and everything in between--it actually reminded her a lot of that one visit she had taken to Akihabara in Tokyo with her grandmother. The only time she'd ever been to Tokyo; probably the only time she'd want to be there without at least one person contracted to her. Laughing softly at her memories of running away from gigantic crowds of people, she noticed that her destination was a little way ahead--certainly close enough to be visible to all parties involved now.

Above the small teahouse was a sign that said 'Teahouse'. It was generic, but she knew the owners. There was a little table in the corner that she almost always buried herself into; but this time she'd be happy enough to sit in one of the central tables with Ai. As the finally reached the door, she opened it before her, the bell making a soft noise to allow her passage. As she expected, there was nobody in here. It was out of the way, and not too well-known, but Taiga was a lovely woman whom Michiko adored. "Welcome to the Tiger Teahouse. It's a small place, but few people will come in. In fact, I'm pretty sure Taiga-sama is happy to cater for all kinds of pets as well." She smiled kindly, finally letting go of Ai's hand (if it were in hers in the first place).

The gesture surprised her. Michiko held her hand out to Ai. Was she to take it? She didn't want to frighten the girl. Michiko spoke out with confidence yet again and Ai nodded. She reached out and placed her hand in Michiko's, keeping a kind smile on. "Alright. Lead the way." Ai's tone lightened and became more cheerful. She followed along with Michiko through the streets of the City. Like any city, it was busy and full of people. Though, the abudance of game stores and arcades was a little shocking. Not many cities were filled with 'fun' like this one was. Though, since it was surrounding a school and that was the main reason that everyone came to this place, it was probably a good thing to do something to entertain the students, which is why Ai was irritated at the fact that it did not have a zoo! What happens if people liked animals? Or got bored of games? Everyone likes the zoo! At least that is how she felt. Though, most teenagers were not exactly excited about going to the zoo. It probably wasn't something that you could easily explain to Ai either. As Ai was too lost in her own thoughts, she was pulled from them when she heard a small giggle. She glanced over to Michiko and blinked a couple of times before realizing that she was stopping at a tea house. "Kiokure rest and stay hidden, kay?" Ai told him and he wriggled himself around her waist like a belt. As they stepped in, Michiko spoke up about how few people entered and that they'd be okay with pets. "You sure...? Even a snake?" Ai asked, tilting her head slightly, "I mean... a snakes a little different. It isn't a cat or dog... Most people freak out just by spotting him. I'd rather people not be uncomfortable if someone does come in..." Ai glanced down as she felt Kiokure sneaking up her shirt. She raised an eyebrow at him and then shrugged. "Alright... If you wanna come out, come on." Ai said and Kiokure happily slithered up onto her shoulder. Michiko let go of her hand, so Ai stepped over to a table near the back, figuring that would be more comfortable for Michiko, though it's not like they were hidden, just away from the main area.

"You sure...? Even a snake?" Michiko nodded happily. She'd seen almost an entire menagerie in here from her little table in the corner at times. Students were pretty much allowed any pets they wanted to have, as long as they were capable of taking care of them. That's what Michiko loved about Taiga--she was a former student who started working around Academy City, and one of Michiko's few actual friends around here. Although Michiko would rarely approach Taiga openly, there was something about the woman that had always drawn her closer... of course, there was another reason that Michiko had brought Ai to this specific teahouse, though there were closer ones.

"Trust me, I think you'll like it here." At that moment, a petite and youthful-looking woman strode out of the back room with a confident stride. She turned instinctively towards the table and waved--"Michiko-chan, yahoo!" Michiko smiled and nodded, waving back with a cheery smile. Taiga knew what that meant, and pranced up to the table with a big smile. "You have a friend with you, Michiko-tan~? And she has a snaaaaake?" The woman giggled and laughed. "Does she like animals, then? Does she want to meet Shishima?" You could almost see the anticipation in Taiga's eyes. Michiko merely nodded, answering for Ai. "Yahoo!"

As quickly as she appeared, Taiga returned behind the curtain. "You know how students can keep almost any pet? Well, this pet is Taiga-san's. This pet is the reason Taiga-san named the teahouse what she did." Michiko giggled quietly as the sound of a guttural growl escaped from the backroom. As Michiko watched, a calm-looking tiger started padding out from the back, looking around the tables with a kitty-like expression. "Don't be afraid, Ai-chan. I mean, I usually am, but still. Shishima isn't going to hurt you. He's just a big kitty." She smiled softly, tilting her head to the side. There weren't any zoos here, so this was the closest to a menagerie that one could find around here.

It became obvious that Michiko came here often. The waitress that came out was quite friendly and seemingly outgoing. Ai was sort of struck for loss of words when the woman so openly spoke to Michiko. The woman also noticed Kiokure, who instantly curled himself back into her shirt upon being seen. "Not so tough, now are ya?" Ai said to him and he popped his head back out of her collar. The woman asked if she liked animals and Michiko nodded to answer for her, which Ai had no problem with. It was a little odd having someone ask questions about her. "Shishima?" Ai thought when she felt like that was something you would name a pet. The woman disappeared behind a curtain and Ai looked back to Michiko, "She seemed really nice. Quite a personality she has." Ai was glancing around for a menu or something to order off of when Michiko spoke up about pets. "Yeah..." Ai replied and then heard the little growl. She turned her head towards where she heard it and her eyes slowly widened as she saw this tiger make it's appearance. "Oh... my... god..." Ai said with a shaky tone. Michiko seemed to think she was scared when Ai heard her next statement, but that was the complete opposite. The shakiness in Ai's voice was of complete excitement and speechlessness. "Oh... my GOD!!" Ai darted over towards the tiger, dropping to her knees and sliding across the floor over to Shishima. "You're beautiful!! I love your coat! Oh my gosh, hi! My name is Ai! How are you!?" Ai's eyes stayed wide with excitement and happiness as she talked to the tiger, "You're obviously well taken care of! Do you like being around the humans?" Ai was able to instantly change the language that she was speaking. Though to her it was normal, to those around she'd be growling in a low pitch in the manner a tiger would. Her excitement had gotten the best of her and she lost herself in the idea of finally meeting such an exotic animal. She may not have been able to go to the zoo, but this was even better. An animal such as this not stuck behind a cage! Amazing!

Aha. Michiko knew that she was right in bringing this lovely young lady here. She couldn't hide the smile on her face--there were things about her powers that she was only really coming to grips with, but this was one of the nicer ones. To be able to understand a person's heart and feelings through the usage of that which meant everything to them--it was great and wonderful, and Michiko wondered if that was the reason behind her usually timid nature. To be able to become brave enough to break the ice... allowed her to do this; allowed her to become confident and talkative, even if only for a little while.

She laughed softly at the actions of the girl petting the tiger, and even giggled at the expressions Taiga was making. Honestly, she figured that even the bubbly woman would have a hard time figuring out what was going on, and yet Michiko understood both Ai and Shishima flawlessly. Before things got too hectic between those two, Michiko quickly waved down Taiga with a smile. "Might I have a green tea and a lemon tart, please?" Taiga nodded energetically, before rushing off into the kitchen with a yelp. It would be good to get Taiga going, and Michiko knew that Ai would get something sooner or later. Michiko would even pay! Yes, that would be nice. Smiling to herself as she tilted from side to side in her chair, Michiko gave thought as to what else they could do. Honestly, it was pretty boring here. Well, not here, but in Academy City in general. Maybe... maybe she could go fight something. No, no, that was a bad idea.

Her thought was immediately broken with another 'yahoo!' from Taiga, who brought out some tea and a tart with a huge grin. Michiko pulled out her purse, but Taiga shook her head. "I've never seen Shishima this happy. It's on the house~" Michiko nodded and thanked, returning the purse to her pocket.

Ai was completely caught up with talking to the tiger, Shishima. How could she not be?! Shishima was adorable and it was the first time Ai was able to see one of the larger exotic animals in the world. Kiokure wasn't exactly exotic either, at least not to her anymore. When Michiko spoke up about tea, Ai turned to her with the happiest smile that Ai had been able to put on her face in quite some time. If one would look closely, you'd even see her right eye produce a small tear of joy. She didn't do anything just yet. Instead, she finished her conversation with Shishima before telling her that she was going to sit with Michiko. Shishima nodded and Ai gave the tiger a firm hug. It was then that Taiga returned with Michiko's tea. "Thank you so much for bringing me here, Michiko." Ai said to her as she stood up and moved back over to the chair, "And thank you for letting me meet Shishima. You have no idea how much I appreciate it." Ai loved seeing Shishima, but she didn't think it very proper to ignore Michiko or sit on the floor in the middle of a restaurant. She dusted off her skirt and turned the chair back towards Shishima. That tiger was beautiful in her eyes, but not in the way most animals were to humans. She was beautiful as a person and friend. "If I may... I mean... this may sound a little odd, but I was wondering if..." Ai looked up to Taiga and then glanced away, rubbing the back of her head in embarrassment, "Actually... Never mind. I think it' s a little to early for that. That's an honor I have to earn..." Clearing her throat, she shook her head and snapped back into regular thought. Before they could ask about what she was going to ask, she turned to Taiga with a smile. "I probably should have asked before, so you wouldn't have to make two trips, but do you think I can get a drink too? " Ai asked, "And I'm sort of hungry so... Can you tell me what you've got to eat? Just for a snake though." A small growl came from Ai's stomach and she heard a little laugh from a certain snake who had been quite up to this time. "Oh shush..." she told Kiokure as she pat the top of his head. "Oh yeah... No one is going to come in here and freak out over the animals right?" Ai asked Michiko with a concerned tone.

"Hehe~" It was cute, watching Ai interact with the tiger as her tea was placed upon the table in front of her. In fact, Michiko was kind of jealous of that tiger. To be fawned over, by such a cute girl... did Michiko actually have feelings in that direction? She blinked a couple of times, thinking it over. She'd never really put much thought into her own sexuality. She didn't like men that much, even when she was around them--if it was the wrong kind of man, her breasts were the only thing on his mind. Any other kind of man was either not interested, gay, or a gentleman. But even then... Michiko loved watching girls walk by with a soft smile on her face, marvelling at their beauty and wondering what they got up to in their own home. Did they lay with man or woman--or both? She giggled softly at the thought before shaking her head and getting rid of all of that mindset. No need to think about romance and sexuality, Michiko. No need at all.

As the last of the thoughts drifted away, Michiko noticed Ai look up at her with those amazing eyes fading back into normality. She breathed a soft sigh of relief, placing her hand on her thigh and yawning slightly. She took up her tea in her other hand and brought it to her lips, drinking back some of the warm liquid while making a satisfied noise. As Taiga turned towards Ai to take her own order, Michiko suddenly blinked. What.. was the time? No, no, it didn't matter... right? "Oh yeah... No one is going to come in here and freak out over the animals right?" Michiko blinked and tapped her chin lightly, before returning to her tea with a calm smile; "Oh, no, don't worry--there's no way that'll happen. Well, it's possible that someone who doesn't know what Taiga does could walk in here and get scared out of their wits. I know I did when I first arrived." She giggled and finished off the tea, before hearing a quiet beep from her wrist.

"Oh! Crap, I'm suddenly needed for something. A meeting, if you will. I'm going to have to run--sorry." The girl quickly got to her feet, bowing multiple times with a determined expression. "I got so lost in having fun, that I completely forgot about it. I'm really sorry, but this is important." She dropped a small sum of money onto the counter, "Here's the payment for mine and Ai's food, Taiga-san--plus a little extra for the show!" She bowed once more and turned towards the door, preparing to run before realizing something and turning back: "I'm going to break the connection. These people don't know about my power, and I'd rather keep it that way," she smiled weakly, "It was fun while it lasted. And you as well, Kiokure! She nodded, bringing her fingers up to her forehead and drawing it across as if cutting a string. "Break!" When done, she nodded in thanks and ran off, trying to hide the fact that she was slowly going back to her old self. She was jealous of Ai... but also thankful that she'd made a nice new friend. Now, to deal with groups once more.

Well that was good to hear, kinda. If someone did enter the shop without knowing Taiga there might of been a problem. And still, even if they knew Taiga they did not know Ai. And with how adorable Shishima is, it can get more comfortable around the tiger than a poisonous snake. It's a good thing Ai kept is to herself that Kiokure was on the deadly side, though now they she had gotten to know her just a bit more, she felt guilty over lying. "Maybe I should tell her the truth..." she thought and then sighed before turning to Michiko, "Hey... I need to tell you som-..." Ai stopped talking when Michiko suddenly became shocked at the time. Michiko got up and said she was going to have to go. "Oh, can you wai-..." Ai stopped talking as Michiko pulled out money and paid for the food and drink, "Michi-..." Ai stood up from her chair in hopes of catching Michiko's attention, but the girl really was in a bit of a hurry. When she said she was going to break the connection, Ai raised her hands as if to signal no, "No, that's ok-..." They don't know about her powers? Ai was sorta dumbfounded now. Michiko was in such a hurry that she couldn't do or say much about what was going on. Ai just watched Michiko with a confused and concerned look on her face. She waved bye as Kiokure raised his head, also in confusion. "Later Michiko..." Ai said, but Michiko was gone. She had done what she said and broken the connection, though that made Ai wonder what would happen when and if they were to run into each other again. She didn't want Michiko to be scared of her. Maybe next time Michiko won't be so frightened since they did spend some time together. "Well... That... happened..." Ai said and glanced towards the money and then Taiga, "... I'm... sort of lost now.  My first friend and she left without telling me whether I'd get to hang out with her again... Well... We go to the same school, so I'll likely see her around." Ai pushed up a smile and glanced back towards the door with in hopes of seeing her again.
